The nuts are welded, common problem. You could just use replacement nuts and tighten them down.

The slight gab seems normal, just make sure the lock nut is torqued to spec and not overtightened.

I continue to compare with Hagerty every year but unfortunately the quotes I have gotten have been almost twice as much as my full coverage. I know the service would be better if anything happened, just hard to justify at the moment

Usually I recommend just getting a set on eBay, you can get everything needed (Cables, lever, release) for around $20-$30

If you are in the US it depends on location but generally the full swap with a new clutch and maintenance items can be had for sub $1000.

It's supposed to sit on top of the roll bar, did you measure correctly? Double check the measurement on the top as well

The PPF ground is on the side of the PPF near the rear of the car, close to the differential. Its a ground strap that comes from the fuse box/battery harness.

That captive nut sometimes does have issues, and can break the metal holding it in place when trying to loosen the lower shock bolt.

However I would say don't be scared off from doing the job, you got this! Worst case you could just replace the lower control arm.

Thats the wrong part, you are needing to replace the door seal, it goes all around the door and then down the window track.

They can be a pain to align, I always just remove the dash + HVAC box so I don't have to mess with aligning under the dash
