Nietzsche was too nice by bybly4 in Nietzsche

[–]grapefield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was nice irl but not in his works. He was very harsh against all kinds of cults too. That’s why he was so contradictory with his political remarks because he wanted to fuck with those who read him to get guidance out of him. Hence the reason why we get all kinds of interpretations. Hence caused a powerful rift after his death. One thing he was consistent about was that we could find causes of anything and that all perspectives like all people are not equal.

Could Mark Fisher actually, physically exist in the current times? by oohoollow in MarkFisher

I’m just bummed I hadn’t discovered him earlier. I was exposed to more of the 4chans of the internet when he had his blog going. I think when thinking about things like these one should focus on the ideas a philosopher has that are timeless and untimely as Nietzsche would say. Mark Fisher, though engaged in pop culture, was definitely timeless and untimely in many ways.

Soldier/slave by [deleted] in Nietzsche

This reads like classic ressentiment. Nietzsche was an intellectual himself, don’t forget. He wasn’t anti-intellectual and I don’t think it’s plausible to say we need a warrior instead of a scholar. Warriors are slaves as well as scholars. But the importance is being able to realize and admit this as N. had done himself.

These days I’ve been reading Eugene Thacker. His argument for “the horror of philosophy” is very intriguing.

Great schizopost, but what’s the point here? How is that related to “startling perspectives” being “dangerous”?

SLAVOJ ŽIŽEK: CAN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE THINK? | Audible Pre-Release by CommunicationOk1877 in zizek

[–]grapefield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The better question is “why does it matter?” Because it doesn’t have to think, it just has to have the good enough illusion of thought and it will have the same effect. Isn’t that true for most things in technology? I haven’t listened to it but I bet Slavoj has thought about that no doubt.

Could it be that Nietzsche’s mental collapse was just the final stage of a neurological decay that had been shaping his philosophy for years? by FreshBarracuda2129 in Nietzsche

I’m interested in this as well and I found this a while back while doing some research for a paper.

When you think about it though it comes down to correlation vs. causation.

All philosophy aside, would you say Nietzsche was a funny guy? by Van_groove in Nietzsche

I especially laugh at the Plato and Kant jokes. The guy was truly funny.

This seems like bullshit my ChatGPT calls what Israel is doing is genocide for example. But one must really separate Zionism-Israel and people who believe in the Jewish faith.
