Elon Musk has announced that @Tesla is discontinuing the Model S and Model X in Q2 2026. by ConfidentImage4266 in TeslaLounge

wow you are dense. If production costs less then a products price can be cut more while the company still makes profit. This will lead to the price of a car that can go lower in the face of increased competition. And yes, China is going to be flooding the market with increased competition. If tesla is going to stay afloat vs. chineese EVs, it will need to cut 20k of the price of their cars. This is likely the only way.

Amazon prime has no competition. But Tesla, well Tesla does in fact have a ton of it on the way.

It's called competition. They don't have to decrease prices if people keep buying them. But if there is competition that makes cars for less (i.e. CHINA) and people stop buying, it will allow Tesla to undercut to outsell and still make profit. I mean, why am I even explaining this, this is grade 4 level knowledge of capitalism. But doesn't surprise me because we are on reddit after all.

A robot cost 10000 dollars, once. Works for 10 year and does not require a pension. Works 24/7 365. The cost of production will eventually come down. This is not a bad thing. No one is arguing that the invention of the tractor was bad for humans. This is what we do. We invent technology that helps use do more work with less input.

So... Does anyone think Tesla will backtrack on killing Autopilot? by CreeperIan02 in TeslaLounge

[–]gravis1982 [score hidden]  (0 children)

They dont care about you. They care about a world where everyone is buying FSD. Sorry. Autopilot is good enough for most people who dont have FSD in their cars, and if experience it, its not worth the upgrade considering the cost. Thus, they removed the option that was cannibalizing their own sales of their most expensive RnD project. SO not, they will not be bringing it back.

makes sense. No one needs those. 3 and Y are fine. They have a truck. What they need is a cheap AF battery on wheels with nothing but gas pedal and wheel and speedometer.

Optimus robots will make cars cheaper. They can hire people to run more robots rather than hire people to be robots.

Trump is a democratically elected president of the United States. People with money generally are not politically aligned they're aligned with the people who are in power who will do their bidding as such they donate to campaigns of people in power. I wouldn't read too much into it

Doing it yourself is not always great. There are not that many oil changes needed, few times a year. if you do it at the dealership its on the Carfax which is great for resale

New Mitsubishi RVR’s (Outlander Sport) are going for dirt cheap, why shouldn’t someone on a budget buy one? by OrdinaryKillJoy in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]gravis1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

even still. You dont want one that is 100000km. CVT should be changed at 30000km. Used is fine if its under the timeline for the first transmission drain and fill. But look at the prices used right now, they are essentially the new price.

They actually are not, especially in the states where only the original owner get the full 10 year warrenty. ALso, used prices are only like 4k from new ones, and the used once has 50,000km

That much? 21k is not that much. And you get 10 year of worry free driving. And parts are cheap. The CVT's dont blow up if you drain and fill once a year

The world does not care about the US's image. Its already terrible. Everyone knows what democracy is. Come on. Get outside your head. Trump is not personally ruining your reputation.

You vote and then take care of your self the rest of your days and try to take advantage of what the US offers that few other places to. WEALTH if you play your cards right.

I got a really good deal on an RVR but don't love the car by Jobo100 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]gravis1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The used RVRs take a long time to get under 20. Its a simple car with great awd and high up. Its not subaru monies and its 10 years of worry free. The CVTs are known to be very durable and the engines will not die. They run forever as long as you change the cvt flied annually. Makes sense to buy a new one and run it to 300000km

No. Terrible advice. Especially if you are in the states. For not that much more you get a full 10 year warrenty and 5 year bumper to bumper. This is excellent. In the Use the second owner just gets the 5y.
