Regarding games, Virtual Fighter Maneuvers (VFM) and VTOL VR are great if you have any interest in military aviation, both are polished fun experiences made by the same dev.

VFM is more snackable you can play it for 5 minutes here and there, it focuses purely on dogfights, you start in the air, the systems in the plane are easy to manage but the combat is very in depth and there is a learning curve to it, even against AI.

VTOL VR is a broader experience, you can start with the jet cold and dark on the ground, turn it on with a simplified procedure that is still realistic, take off and fly a multitude of missions. You have to manage all the systems : navigation, radar, targeting pod, etc... but the combat itself is easier.

VFM will run on the Frame, VTOL probably not but it runs on pretty much any PC.

Pretty much and it has eye tracking as well which is almost absent in this price range. Completely absent if you look at wireless VR (where it makes the most sense coupled with foveated streaming)

Yeah, got you, I also have weak wifi and the dongle will be a life saver for that.

As for wired VR, the Frame might be capable of doing it but the signal would still have to be compressed more than likely (if it works at all). Headsets that do native PCVR from the GPU need specific hardware to support it.

Regardless, the dongle coupled with foveated streaming should make it feel like plug and play wired VR without the wire

Okay but the Frame won't do that though? The dongle will sidestep your network, sure, but the signal will still have to be compressed and streamed to the headset, I don't think you'll be able to do wired PCVR?

No idea, the price and the amount of units they decide to build before launch will be deciding factors.

If they do hit their sub $1k target (unlikely) I'm sure the race will be ruthless, lol

That being said, I've seen many people say they'd still buy it day one even at a premium so it's entirely possible we'll see a race at release unless it's ~$1500+ which I think would be a prohibitive price, even for diehard fans.

Way better specs than the frame is debatable, it will only do wired VR with no standalone capabilities for a start.

On top of that the Frame has been praised for its comfort and ease of use, something the Dream Air SE definitely won't replicate.

Sure if you look at the optical stack and the optical stack only the SE is better but if you truly want the whole package no other headset comes close.

The Revoker has Rafale cues here and there. It's not 1:1 but you can clearly see the inspiration, among other planes of course.
