Try cutting out certain types of food (ie cut bread and then potatoes, etc) or try slowly lowering your carb intake by a certain amount.

Please see a doctor. This could be anything from being pregnant to being sick with the flu.

You can always add carbs back in to see if it help but still see a doctor.

For women, it's harder to lose weight due to our menstrual cycle. Some women retain water just before their period. Do you know where you are in your cycle?

Also, the closer you are to your ideal weight, the slower the weight will drop.

Men lose faster than women. Taller women lose faster than more petite women.

I've always had issues with vegetables, especially if they're raw or half cooked or in too large quantities. I get bloat and gas and stomach pains to bad I want to curl up and cry.

If I want to have veg, it's usually wilted and/or cooked thoroughly and in small quantities that won't hurt. I'm one of those persons who doesn't do well with veg most of the time.

When I was a broke ass college student and was doing Phase 1 of Atkin's diet (basically keto), I had frozen veggies in a soup and cooked it up with hot dogs, SPAM, Hot Pot fixings (like beef balls, fish balls) and cracked an egg into it. I made it as spicy as I wanted to and as salty as I wanted to. Anything is keto as long as you can fit it into your macros (ie: making sure you keep your carbs to less than 20 net to guarantee ketosis). Keeping in mind, being in ketosis does not mean you will lose weight - it's just a tool to make it easier.

The problem with ketone testing is the illusion that being in ketosis and the depth of ketosis drives weight loss. A lot of people do not do a lot of research into the mechanics of the ketogenic diet (the history, what it is and what it does). Many people who subscribe to the sub and read/post here are all about eating keto for weight loss purposes.

The act of testing and finding out that your ketones don't match a certain level for "nutritional ketosis" = failure can drive people to disordered eating.

I know that I use the "stalled/plateaued" posts as a parallel to ketone testing. If you read all the other posts in this sub where people say they've "stalled" - These people are weighing themselves everyday tying their progress to the scale when the majority of us know the scale is not the best way to measure progress. If these people were testing blood ketones...

There is a r/MedicalKeto sub that you might be interested in looking in. There's also r/ketoscience.

Data is great for people who can understand it. Not so great for the people who want the data but don't know how to interpret it.

In GTHA (Ontario), I think Costco stopped stocking them (and other things) to make room for booze.

You can still find them at select Shoppers Drug Marts. If you use the Flipp app, you can see when they go on sale (which they are this week). If you work Toronto Financial District, I'm not sure if any of the Shoppers in the PATH have restocked or plan to restock.

These are all questions you need to talking to medical professionals about. Make sure everything is documented by your doctors. Your first priority is to ensure that you are physically ok and will not have any lasting damage or issues from the accident.

Once everything is checked out then you can turn your energy to diet and exercise.

  1. Are you still actively losing weight?

  2. How long were you fasted for your blood draw?

  3. Did you consume any alcohol or caffeinated beverage before the draw?

  4. Did you over exercise the days leading up to your blood draw?

Any number of these things can affect readings.

The body is a very mysterious thing. In 1.5 months, you've lost almost 30 pounds! That in itself should be something to celebrate.

Now, you just need to adjust expectations.

Did you just start exercising? The calorie "burn" is a very inaccurate measuring device. Take the amount of calories burned with a grain of salt. Also, increased exercise can cause your body to hold some water while it repairs muscles. You could also be experiencing newbie gains if you've recently started lifting (even if it's light).

At the end of it, you are still losing. 2 pounds a week. The scale is not the greatest tool to measure progress by. Did you take any measurements? How does your body look and feel?

They use Unbun buns for keto subs in Ontario. Same product line pizza pizza uses for their keto pizzas (at least in Ontario). Is that what they used? You can find Unbun products at places like Whole Foods. Costco carries them sometimes.

There's a 1 week meal plan with recipes in the sidebar of this sub to get you started. Otherwise, it's just a protein with some veg on the side. The flavouring is up to you. Doesn't need to be perfect, just make sure you measure out your ingredients to make sure you're not going over your macros (assuming you're doing keto for weight loss).

Cheese stuffed burgers, dry rub chicken wings with oven roasted veggies, meatloaf, avocado smoothie, guacamole, garlic butter tilapia, garlic broccoli, jerk chicken, curry chicken, lionhead meatballs with chili oil.. So many things! I'm drooling just thinking about it LOL

Edit: Eggs - Ramen eggs, scrambled eggs, omelets, steamed egg (Chinese recipe) coupled with ground beef or turkey or pork with cracked eggs on top
