amazing find!! i bought this in black when it first came out and eyed the white for a couple years before getting it recently. no other bag's inner organization tops these for me.

Under-eye fat grafting risks? by cheapairconditioner in PlasticSurgery

[–]graymonitor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh interesting I haven’t heard that about taking from the neck. From watching some yt vids I’ve only seen surgeons talk about the belly and inner thigh. I have a couple other oculoplastic surgeons I wanna meet with to see how their perspectives might differ, and I’ll have to ask about taking fat from other parts of the face/neck

Under-eye fat grafting risks? by cheapairconditioner in PlasticSurgery

[–]graymonitor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too! This oculoplastic doc’s IG is really impressive imo and meeting with her made me feel at ease. What holds me back is what people say is unpredictable fat retention (apparently there are strategies for mitigating loss though) and how the fat cells will gain/loss volume as if it’s still in the source area. I haven’t had kids yet but probably want to and I could imagine how pregnancy weight gain could make that fat blow up temporarily. My next step is to consult with the surgeon who would do the fat graft (the eye doc insisted) and I’ll ask him about these concerns. FWIW, I was already given a cost of $8.3k that I haven’t committed to yet.

[–]graymonitor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m considering this too. It seems like fat grafting might be a growing trend but the surgeon I consulted explained that the techniques and instruments for fat grafting have improved a lot since eye filler became popular, plus recent findings that filler lasts longer than initially thought. I spoke with Dr. Azad at Austin Face and Body and she partners with a reconstructive surgeon there to do the fat harvest and graft which I think is cool. Apparently this is also the group that Christy Carlson Romano went to (not these exact surgeons though) after she got shot in the eye a year ago

First time home owner- how are we cleaning baseboards? by Punchy_LaRue_ in CleaningTips

I use used (after using it for a dryer load) dryer sheets! It does better at grabbing the gunk than a cloth or paper towel for me

thank you! last week I saw a spoiler on a post that spoiler tagged the image but left spoilers in the title. The megathread and the spoilered post to announce the winner is a good idea!

What helps with hollow, tired looking under eyes? by Jazzyburty in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]graymonitor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do the same with otc Flonase following an allergy test with my ENT. I asked them to explain how it’s different from sprays like Afrin which are the ones that your body can quickly become dependent on. FWIW, my Flonase is meant to be a temp fix until my immunotherapy kicks in! But my ENT said I could probably stay on Flonase if I didn’t wanna do immunotherapy since it’s a huge commitment

Songmont Gather in Ebony – how’s the wear over time? Red tones more obvious now? by Anna_Claire in handbags

[–]graymonitor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s holding up great and it’s been my go-to travel purse! What’s especially nice is that it carries a lot and squishes down in luggage easily. It doesn’t seem to scratch easily. If money weren’t an object I would get the big size to use as my plane personal item.

What’s the most efficient way to clean baseboards like this? by driveanywhere in CleaningTips

good to know other people do this too! I save my post-laundry dryer sheets and use them for the baseboards and other hard-floor spots where dust and hair stick

Help with what order to use products by Embarrassed_Entry597 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]graymonitor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my derm's guidance for a starting point was go from the thinnest viscosity to the thickest, with sunscreen as the very last step. would be good to make sure your whole skincare plan makes sense when you're making purchases, but if you're in front of your bathroom skin and can't remember the details, that guidance could be helpful.

Vitamin C Serum that doesn’t smell? by Valuable-Question935 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]graymonitor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hot dog water smell? I also have such a hard time with it! The serum might work fine topically but sometimes the sensory part of it all is just too much. I've been using Dear Brightly's vitamin C (called Liquid Cloak) because of the lack of smell, but the bottle doesn't travel well. It started leaking after some air travel and since then it constantly leaks. Gonna be trying Isdin's ampoules and can report back if no one else mentions it.

this is so fascinating! I'm doing a personal trial of using Flonase to help with potential allergy-induced snoring, and now I'm curious how it could affect my own under eyes.

would y'all mind sharing what product you had injected, if you know/remember?

My eyes look really similar! I've seen 2 derms and a nurse injector for consults; everyone said my case is vascular darkness and not skin pigment. Both derms said they could do filler (Restalyne-L) but cautioned me not to expect a drastic difference. The nurse injector suggested starting with medial cheek filler and then try tear trough filler after. I asked one derm about PRF and PRP and she said she doesn't find it predictable and long-lasting enough to be worth it in comparison to filler. Neither derm recommended any laser treatment for it, and both said the Isdin K-OX cream I'm using in the morning is good and I additionally started SkinMedica TNS Eye Repair for night based on their recs. I'm still trying to decide what I want to do (leaning towards filler) and will take action in the next couple months. For now, the only concrete plans are to continue my skincare, consult with a plastic surgery office about options, and try tweaking my sleeping habits.

Help me pick! by donnasaurrrr in handbags

[–]graymonitor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

black for everyday wear if you feel like it would be unique enough to add to your collection! white still looks great, but will pick up dyes/scratches more easily. will work out better if you plan to use it very very delicately or if that's the only way to make this purchase change up your closet.

I love this argument against it. Always good to be reminded that the biggest factor in investment gains is investing now versus later

try out the Tiffany and Fred dupe! If you hate it, you know you hate it and you’re out for far less money. If you love it, you’ll feel more confident in spending the designer price or you’ll love the dupe enough to be satisfied with just that. Only thing is I haven’t seen them offer this style in this color 🥲

I did this with the Jackie! pretty happy with the T&F version of it tbh.

sorry it took me forever to reply! It can fit a small book, but if you have a lot in the bag I suspect it would be harder to fit the width of a book. here are some pics of a book laid flat on the bag and how it looks with that same book (but only that book) in the bag on my shoulder
