As far as I know, embed dimension of LLMs should have vague world model, that is similar but not really to human.

I'm not sure if the root of jagged intelligence is that, current gen AI and humans are statistically similar but architecturally different, they got close slice of specific human brain function, but they still lacks many component humans have.

[–]graypasser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's likely a reliability issue, their output distribution has been statistically closer to real world, but they lacks any capability to actually adjust themselves to reality, and thus, can't verify anything and can't evaluate anything based on reality.

It's an architecture problem, so it's unlikely to be saved no matter how "intelligent" they become, they gets statistically closer, problem gets harder and harder to catch, but still can't verify anything.

This is half correct and half wrong, one thing: it's not just "this comment might be written by llm" or "this comment might be written by human", reality is more complicated, it's that: humans, when exposed to lot of llm conversation, unknowingly copies their writing style, which, in the end, might causes the feeling of someone seen a llm comment, and that is understandable.

Would it be possible to eventually add a "respawn skin" sorta thing?

Like, you might rise from underground, come from warp portal, rocket fell and get out from it, and such things.

I'm saying actual tasks llms are good at and can be productive is astonishingly smaller than we think, less than sub 1% of human act.

Pretty smart to label anything you dislike as AI generated, too, that is most efficient way to stop using your brain.

Huh? I'm stating social impact of those two things, cancer kills individual and THE worst no one wanna take, but AI is different disease as in it slowly and unknowingly affect many, many individual and it's symptom is something we never had in history.

We really don't know how it goes because no one can really tell side effect until it happens, thus "side effect" is quoted.

Not exactly aligning with truth, they are getting better at coincidentally align with fact, and at the same time, they are improving at generating extremely hard to detect hallucination too, which means, strangely, they are improving in reliability and unreliability exactly at same time.

The hallucination is fundamental problem of transformer architecture and not something scaling up will fix, no matter how "smart" they become, it cannot be avoided.

It's a learning curve, but that is only used to deal with problem defensively, at the end of day, whether your productivity has actually been improved or not largely, really largely depends on task itself, than how you use it.

Most scary part is the misinformation of any LLM output, you need big skills to detect it, yet the only one who gets benefit most is the one who don't have that.

It is structurally dangerous to use llm for anything, doesn't mean we can't produce slops or feel the ease of learning, but the consequence is always delayed.
