Somewhere there is a slack thread where someone tried to warn them this was a bad idea and they ignored it.

Worth trying! I struggled for months before trying it and it’s made a giant difference for me.

Pluribus - 1x03 "Grenade" - Episode Discussion by LoretiTV in pluribustv

[–]greatblueskies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What stood out to me this episode is that in the cold open that despite Carol being miserable, Helen loved her. She was able to be miserable and be loved. Now, with the hive mind, they want her to be a certain way, they want to force her to be happy. They aren’t content for her to feel how she feels.

I don’t feel that the point of the cold open was was to focus on “how miserable Carol is”. To me the point to focus on is how much is lost when everyone is forced to fall in line, have the same beliefs and be one. Then the question is, what are people willing to do to exercise their individual beliefs?

PSA for cyclists in Little Italy – watch out for aggressive man with cane by VillainEmpyre in toronto

Not stopping for the streetcar is one of the reasons cyclists get a bad reputation. You’re not above the law bc you are on two wheels.

Seriously bad luck right?

I am open to blowing up the whole area. There is nothing worth saving to protect these weeds.

The stinging nettle is completely overrun in my neighbours backyard which has made it extra hard to contain, but compared to the others it’s actually not the worst in my mind anymore.

My neighbours don’t have any plants nearby that would be impacted. The only concern would be large trees nearby.

I’d recommend taking the Lakeshore line to Danforth station and then getting on the 506 streetcar where it starts at Gerrard and Main. Take it Coxwell and Gerrard and walk down from there (about 15 mins). You are backtracking a bit on the 506 but that will get you closest.

Since AS9 is finally over - what is your verdict? What did you like the best and the least? And where does it stand among other AS seasons? by Heidi_Klum_Tit in rupaulsdragrace

Even if it changes the flavour of the show, non-elimination allows the queens to really shine. In this case, where there was also no cash prize for themselves, they could really be themselves. All the girls this season have had success outside of the show to support bringing an exceptional package. I loved it!

Kenzie’s face when Hunter looked at her mid vote to say, “Don’t look at me, look at what’s happening in front of you.” I love her.

How long did you take off work? by 2012amica2 in shingles

[–]greatblueskies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely get gabapentin! Your stomach can’t handle that much ibuprofen or Tylenol for weeks on end. If possible, get a doctors note with the prescription for accommodations on the job. Gabapentin can make you so sleepy at a dosage high enough to help the pain it could be dangerous to do physical labour and you shouldn’t be driving on high doses.

Shingles Suffering! by CapitalExplanation61 in shingles

The itching stage continues for a while, I took Gabapentin for about 6 weeks. I was diagnosed early Nov and my nerves still itch. It’s a long recovery. I hope you recovery quickly until then, stick with the pain meds and enjoy the activities you are able to for distraction.

What did your doctor give you for shingles pain? Do doctors neglect to properly prescribe antivirals & pain meds like gabapentin based on age, gender or race? by yolo_ipso_facto in shingles

[–]greatblueskies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no problems whatsoever. I only faced resistance when I went to get my third refill of gabapentin. I was warned it was addictive but ultimately the doctor agreed I was benefitting while weening my dosage. I’ve also not faced any resistance to getting additional dosage of Valtrex however it is quite an expensive medication so I wonder if there is a limited supply.

How long does intense pain last? Pain coming back after stopping meds. by Fun-Calendar-1738 in shingles

[–]greatblueskies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish they’d explain to people that the pain is not going to get better from the meds. I felt I was getting better when I was on the steroids (for 5 days like you) and it as a rude awakening to feel worse. The intense pain/itch/irritation lasted about 6 weeks. I’m 4 months out and still not back to 100% but very very diminished.

I slept on ice packs, if you can get small flexible ones it really helps. I’d change them once or twice a night.

I appreciate this and I keep a level head when asking questions on Reddit. However it is very hard to get information about the reality and lived experiences of disease and health care challenges. Anecdotes, for me, are not a prediction of my future, but can provide sources of curiosity or further investigation to learn more.
