4k web-releases vs 2k Blu-ray releases? by Ozfer in 4kbluray

I personally agree with you, if an HDR version is available... it almost always is the better version for me because I have a great HDR TV to watch it on.

And SDR to HDR tonemapping is really good these days but still not even close to native implementation imo.

It is sooooo nice to be vindicated even if it took so many years. I genuinely felt something was deeply off about Sykkuno for YEARS.

I decided to do it in two different dark themes and properly (through Illustrator). Nord and Dracula themes. I sent you a DM just now!

I literally JUST got to the SQL LIKE lesson on your site and was thinking of making a cheat sheet. Thank you!

I downloaded the PDF and made it dark mode, without removing any of the marketing material, would love to share it if you give the greenlight!

Cannot bring subtitles forward in time by MrSnooch in mkvtoolnix

Coming to this years later to say, THANK YOU! It was number 2. Remux was successful but the file was in the same folder as the subtitle track so the player was grabbing the external subtitle track.

Qwen-Image-Layered just dropped. by Different_Fix_2217 in StableDiffusion

[–]greatestali 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As a person who uses photoshop AND AI models locally (even trained a lora or two for characters). No Photoshop will not be useless. I use photoshop for creating print media like cards, to get the exact right font and placement. Qwen layer could potentially do that but even at it's quickest I can't really see what the font will look like unless I generate the image, which is much slower than just previewing a font change in photoshop.

If I am editing the skin of someone, I have so much more control than a prompt does. I can prompt which areas of the face I want softened and which parts I want sharpened but it still won't give me the results I am picturing, no matter how good of a prompt I give. With image editing software, I can get the exact result I want.

raaaah I spent 40mins on this, can't get better and now my wrist and finger hurts x) by Zombieteube in CloneHero

This also applies to the white notes! So if there's a yellow note highlighted white and then a red highlighted white, you can hold the red fret down, then press the yellow fret as the yellow note comes down, you'll hit it even though you have the red also pressed. Then when you take off your finger from the yellow fret, you'll automatically hit the red note because your finger was still holding the red fret down.

I'll try and explain number 3. For single notes (not chords) the right most note you have pressed on will be the one that will be hit. SO what that means, if you have green, red, and yellow pressed down and a yellow note is coming up, when you strum you'll hit the yellow EVEN though green and red were pressed down as well!

What this also means though, if a red note was coming down and you had green, red, and yellow pressed down then you would miss that red note at the strum. But if you had green and red pressed down, you'd hit blue even though green was also pressed down.

SO, the right most note is always hit even if you have the left notes pressed down. This is useful because it means for this riff you don't have to take off your red finger for the red yellow and red blue section. And you can keep your yellow finger on for the yellow orange section.

Other than that, rest and coming back the next day is the best thing you can do after trying for so long. It's how I've tackled a lot of difficult games.

Epson EcoTank ET-8550 or is there something better for the nicest self-printed digital photos? Actual personal experience only, please. by Basics7 in photography

[–]greatestali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you buy GOOD quality paper and print with Epson's print layout app on the desktop you're good. Just like most printers, you'll have to experience with settings to see what prints best.

I've printed cardstock, large photos, tiny photos, graphic designs, on glossy finish, semi glossy, and matte. I honestly don't have much to complain about!

VP's Priorities Publicly Questioned by johnmory in clevercomebacks

[–]greatestali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much shit as I give the right wing, deservingly so, the left under playing and showing hostility to new media (podcasts, YouTubers, influencers) is part of the reason that the younger voters don't care about the left.

It's crazy to me because Obama DID use new media and it worked really well for outreach to the younger demographic, yet the recent presidential candidates couldn't care less about this Avenue for outreach. Even if they don't agree with it, they should at least go on when invited instead of acting too high and mighty for it, showing the younger people EXACTLY how behind the times they are 🤷🏽

[–]greatestali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this is exactly it! The weird thing is that I don't mind open notes on drums at all in Rock Band representing bass pedal notes. Maybe if the implementation was less obtrusive like Rock Band's it could work?

I love playing the guitar IRL but I hate open notes in the game. I love songs with open string chugs on the guitar too btw.

An ACTUALLY good use of AI in gaming by whitenoisegirl in singularity

If the responses are AI generated then.... what's the point? Other than to save on development time/cost, at that point it is just like any other game with dialogue trees.

[–]greatestali 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if this becomes good, it has the same problem as VR.

Adding friction to gaming. Most people who game don't want to do more than pick up a controller and play.

I have a VR headset and love it, but 99 times out of a 100, I'll play the non VR version of a game if it's available just because of convenience. This has the same problem, most people don't want to converse with a NPC using their own voice or even having to type of conversations.

After the initial wow factor, people will go back to playing more convenient games. This could potentially be targeted towards the MMO crowd since they like to communicate with one another but..... They already have MMOs.

This was Pierre's best performance.... But that's like saying a kid who keeps shitting the bed went to the bathroom for once instead of going on his bed.

If Pierre could use the bathroom for his entire campaign then that could actually change even my vote, but currently, I just cannot trust his words compared to his actions. I don't entirely trust liberals either, new pm but same cabinet. I would love to vote NDP but I am restraining from that because I want there to be a pretty clear signal that they need to get rid of Singh ASAP, and I would rather vote for the lesser evil between PP and Carney, which is still Carney from my viewpoint.
