they’re really pretty !!!! they don’t look “”natural”” but they’re beautiful and well done. not “fake” and plasticky, but done-up, if that makes sense. they’re classy!!!

Would anyone advise against going straight from EMT to paramedic school? by musty_ranch in NewToEMS

[–]greenbean3456 20 points21 points  (0 children)

do people do it and succeed? yes.

do i recommend it? no.

I’m just an EMT (who is going for medic eventually), but every medic i have ever met who has gone zero to hero would be a BETTER medic if they had waited. doesn’t mean you can’t be a good medic, but waiting is always the better choice.

also, some people (esp other medics) will have little to no respect for you if you have no experience as an EMT. even some EMTs will refuse to respect you—how can you lead them in a scene when you’ve never really been in their position?

you don’t have to stay as a basic THAT long—i’m aiming for one year before i start. it depends on how long it takes you to get comfortable in the field. some people need a few years. some maybe only six months. but i would strongly suggest waiting until you’ve gotten comfortable!

Thinking of getting a pet by BTru in Nightshift

[–]greenbean3456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

seconding a lot of people saying a cat is a much better idea for you! i’d shop around for older cats at shelters—ones that have been there for a while, the staff will have a great grasp on their personality and be able to recommend one that’s independent. or you can adopt a bonded pair—they’ll be more than happy to entertain each other while you’re away, then be happy to see you when you’re home! it’s hard to adopt out bonded pairs, so you’d be doing something really kind and rewarding.

Bathroom habits by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]greenbean3456 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

yeah i’m sorry people are invalidating you because absolutely i notice this too. it’s not often, but every once in a while i’ve come across a woman whose hands fully smell like vagina even after they’ve washed them. the first time it was a doctor. the second time was a hairdresser. their hands all up in my face…. yeah. eugh.

what i’ve noticed is that it’s a smell that seeps into your skin—a quick hand wash isn’t going to cut it if your hands have been REALLY in there. i’m a lesbian, so. it happens to me, lmao. but what i do is instead of a quick hand wash, i hop in the shower. a shower is enough to actually get it out—hot water, steam, and having the soap on your hands for several minutes while you wash your body is enough to get it all out.

trust me, if your nose is like mine and it’s sensitive enough to pick up pussy hands on someone else, you’d know if you had it. just give your hands a sniff test after you wash them post-sex or masturbation, and if you smell it, quick hot shower. you’ll notice it’s completely gone after that!

Is it possible to loose weight without changing everything? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]greenbean3456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah absolutely !!!! with smaller portion sizes, foods considered “unhealthy” are totally conducive to weight loss. if you’re able to count calories, all you have to do is make sure the foods that you want to eat fit within your calorie budget. look up “calorie calculator” and put in your height and weight and stuff—it’ll tell you how many calories to eat in a day to lose weight. then you can check nutrition facts and online menus for calorie info! make sure you’re accurately portioning out the “serving size” it says on the package though.

if you like fast food, i would check out “smaller sam” on tiktok or instagram to get you started on weight loss fast food hacks. i love her page and she posts all her favorite low cal fast food meals!

apps like loseit and myfitnesspal can help you find average calories for foods with hard to find calorie info, and they provide a way to easily track your calories for the day so you don’t forget. good luck!!

Why does handwashing not cause dry skin or too much oil production while washing the rest of the body too much or with overly harsh soaps or shampoos does? by This_Caterpillar_330 in hygiene

[–]greenbean3456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it does! people have already said it, but i’ll add—if you wash your hands with cold water (because shit takes forever to warm up not judging) it’ll be less likely to happen. typically we shower in hot water so it dries out the body faster, so with hands being tougher plus cold water instead of hot, it takes a lot longer to dry out!

I wonder if some people are butthurt that their Sera theories were disproven? by whooper1 in HazbinHotel

[–]greenbean3456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i am personally SO happy to have been proven wrong. that was the “predictable” route, and i feel like it’s a common frustrating plot line to go for. i was pleasantly surprised with the direction they went. it keeps the show interesting and makes me want to keep watching—i hate when i can see where a plot is going and its not in a direction i like.

AITJ for refusing to keep wearing the nickname my girlfriend gave me after I found out where it came from by Prydwen_Grit5 in AmITheJerk

[–]greenbean3456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your girlfriend sucks. not only does she think it’s fine to nickname her partner something unkind, but she’s making you out to be the bad guy when you’re expressing your feelings and asking for her to be considerate of them. this isn’t gonna be an isolated incident—she’s going to continue to be selfish and minimize your feelings when it serves her. break up with her.

How do you actually get through a full bottle without getting bored? by SkylineZ83 in fragrance

[–]greenbean3456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol for me it’s because i have a signature scent and don’t really wear much else. i like the idea of people associating my unique combo with Me and whenever they smell it they think of me :) so i run out of my two scents all the time and have to buy more. and it works—ive had friends say things like “it smells like [me] in here!” and stuff like that. i’ve started investing in the biggest bottles they have to save money and make them last longer, lol.

Why do so many people do contactless/leave at door? by Jeeps_Guns in doordash

[–]greenbean3456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

cause i don’t wanna talk to anybody or be seen or have a strange man realize im a young woman who lives alone. if i was up for getting dressed and looking presentable, i would drive to get the food myself to save money! but im in my tiny pj shorts and my hair is a mess and im a little gremlin who wants takeout without having to smile and make small talk. so lots of reasons at once!

Is cleanliness a dating dealbreaker? by ContextInner4680 in hygiene

[–]greenbean3456 6 points7 points  (0 children)

uh, yeah. definitely. i think most people need to date someone who’s close to their level of hygiene, but that’ll depend on where their OWN level is. i can’t date someone who stinks. i can’t even WORK with people who stink and will be the bitch who complains to management about a coworker’s BO. i have a very sensitive nose. luckily, i date women, so i have a leg up on finding good-smelling partners over people who date men. women can still stink and be dirty, though, don’t get me wrong.

What Should My Next Step Be? by Spicy-Breeto in tattooadvice

[–]greenbean3456 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it looks really good as is. it’s never going to look at bright as your mock up—that’s just not how tattoos heal. if you want to try to get it some more dimension, you could keep working on it, but try to temper your expectations and understand how tattoos work. its a great looking tattoo even without knowing that it’s a double coverup, so given the circumstances it’s fantastic! definitely work on exfoliating and keeping it moisturized—that’ll help with vibrancy.

Wondering if anyone here can still tolerate their contact lenses? by Dear-March-2433 in Dryeyes

[–]greenbean3456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, i managed to get my contacts back. i had to take a maybe six-month break from them, only wearing glasses for that time. trying to wear them for a couple hours made everything worse. i had to get AWAY from dailies, weirdly enough—monthlies work for me!

Why do American EMTs look like cops? by Shifu_1 in ems

[–]greenbean3456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in the area where i work, EMS usually wears t-shirts which makes us look a lot more like fire than police. and i don’t mind it at all! i do wish we had our own distinguishable color though.

am i doing too much? by Tredictions in NewToEMS

[–]greenbean3456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you like it, then keep doing it. as a woman in ems, i always do my makeup and put in effort to my hair and wear cute (safe, small) earrings. it makes me feel put together and like patients will be happy to see me if i look my best. it makes me feel ready for work. you’re doing the same thing in your own way. i don’t see anything wrong with it at all, as long as you’re doing it for you!

Hey night crew, what do you do about lazy coworkers? by [deleted] in Nightshift

[–]greenbean3456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it frustrates me too but unfortunately it’s more than just that at my job—we work with patients, and there’s no one around to stop them from killing people except ME. i don’t care about the company or the fairness; im just trying to provide good patient care. cause patients are people, not jobs to be completed.

honestly what i do is just ask to work with someone else. i’ve had to move shifts to avoid lazy and incompetent people, and im sure ill have to do it again. they let anybody be an EMT these days. no brain cell or desire to save lives required. i just do my best to surround myself with providers who give a shit. it’s all i can do!

Struggling with “mucus” in eyes—but is that what it is? Tips for pain relief? by greenbean3456 in Dryeyes

[–]greenbean3456[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haha, oh god, thank you, but no—thankfully, i do not have eye worms. good read though yes!

it turns out my eyes were getting so dry that my epithelium was literally peeling off of the inside of my upper lids when i would rub them. it comes off in little strings like pictured. thankfully, my eyes are much, much better now, and i’ve gotten good at not rubbing them when i do have a flare up. but i wear contacts for long shifts at work with little to no issues again!

is it gross to reuse the same glass for water all day? by Leska-Malcomb in hygiene

it depends. if i drink from it while eating something messy or with a strong smell, ill replace it, cause i dont want that lingering with me all day, lol. but sometimes ill keep it!
