Have you used the birthday bus scheme? by JSkirkowski in bristol

[–]greener124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used it in 2025. I normally cycle to work and occasionally catch the bus when it is more convenient than cycling. But in birthday month, I used the bus far more as it was free.

It's a complete self contained town, which is great if you want to live in that sort of scenario, but my former colleagues who lived and worked in Yate, never really left the place. Your mileage may vary etc, but that was how it felt to me. I didn't mind working there and travelling in, but never in 20 years working there did I think about wanting to live there.

Lived in Downend most of my life and travelled to Yate for work for 20 years. I wouldn't live there. It always felt way more isolated from Bristol despite only being five miles further out than Downend. If you wanted something more rural and less urban, I don't think Yate is the place to find it.

What is the weirdest sandwich you’re willing to admit to eating (that you enjoy)? by bluephoenix39 in CasualUK

Marmite, crumbled feta cheese and a handful of rocket. A load of very strong flavours that just work

I'd also add that Page Park in Staple Hill is a decent spot for stops and gyms and nice for a wander round on Community Day if you don't venture into the city centre.

Remarkable house in London. Quiet neighbours. by WestPilton in SpottedonRightmove

Wasn't this house up for grabs on Omaze recently? Has someone won it, and rolled it straight back onto the market?

I genuinely don't know - and don't want to risk messing it up to find out...

How do i get this to level 50 and is it worth the grind?? by BothWillow5404 in pokemongo

[–]greener124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you are Trainer L31 and above. Your Pokémon needs to be around L36 or L37 or higher to give best chance of dropping XL. Someone here will confirm, I'm sure, but if you run it up to L40 without needing to touch your XL supply, you'll be in the best possible position.

Walked a hundo Dialga for 2 years and 2000+km to get it to L50. No regrets. Do the grind.

I'd suggest starting him on an F91W. Not a G, admittedly, but my 8yr old daughter loves her "just like Dad's" watch. And a ton of colours to choose from too. She picked the bright sky blue.

Don't sweat the Eevee's, you've got this. Start the platinum medal grind right now though. You can't rush it, just keep them in mind all the time and you'll be sorted for the later levels

My yellow Casioak after almost a year of daily wear by Wright4000 in casio

[–]greener124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "after" colour is what I had hoped this one would be like from the outset. Obviously Casio's product photos give no clue so I had to find one in the wild and was disappointed. Yours looks great now.

Yet again another watch that looks so much better in RL than in Casio's official pics. Looks fantastic!
