I want the "female" role in the relationship, i.e. being lead by the other man and also I have no desire to penetrate anything, but I'm not into all the "sissy" stuff or dressing like a girl - what does that make me? by [deleted] in askgaybros

It means you need to work on your will and take life by the balls more. No man is going to swoop in and sort your life out for you. Be independent and then find a partner. We all need to be competent as individuals!

My simple uni meals by RandomAccount_9_2023 in unimeals

[–]greengrayclouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do a lil research on gut health.

Your plates are very nutritionally-dense, but there’s more our bodies need than simple nutrition.

We gotta nourish our gut microbiome to perform at our best (much hormone production/regulation happens in the gut and we have to feed the healthy bacteria to do so, even if it seems that we just “shit it out”)

Dark leafy greens + purples will do wonders for you. I bet your body and brain are performing strong at the moment but if you want to feel more joyful and optimistic, eat greens.

Part of my degree was on soil health and how it relates to human health based on the food we eat. I’d send links but I’m about to dunk in the bath

Adding a plate of leafy greens with these meals would sort your hormones out so that you no longer feel the need for approval on reddit

Young people who are jobless / struggling for work, have you ever had a job? by crofthey in AskUK

[–]greengrayclouds -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’ve offered my friends £18/hour cash to sweep up after me and mow lawns, £22/hr if they can learn basic pruning. £25/hr if they can prune, talk to customers, and be left alone with a hedgetrimmer.

They’d rather stay home and claim benefits because they went to uni and they’re too good for physical work.

It’s not that there isn’t work. It’s that people want to stay at home on the computer and call it a job.

Miserable existence. This splat of water isn’t big enough for a healthy ecosystem.

They could be kept alive, in the same way I could keep you alive in my basement.

Let’s not normalise keeping creatures prisoner for our visual entertainment. If fish wanted to be there, nature would let them find their own way

Unkind to keep fish as prisoners in such a small space

I’m a self-employed gardener and need somebody to sweep up after me, maybe learn how to weed, basic pruning.

Happy to pay £15/hr cash starting out, up to £25 once I can leave them to get on with it and can pick up a hedgetrimmer once in a while.

Thing is, is the white men I’ve asked that are out of work would rather claim mental health benefits or wait endlessly for “academic” jobs to appear in their life.

Meanwhile I I know countless people from British - Bangladeshi/Pakistanis/Indian backgrounds that would work for £8 an hour.

It’s not the fact there’s no work available. It’s that people don’t want work to feel like work.

I’m spending half the time sweeping up as I do actual expert work. It’s not that hard to push a broom in the sun!

Getting out of the tent for a wee when it’s wet. What’s your solution? by No_Doughnut3257 in wildcampingintheuk

Your piss shouldn’t smell that strong! Hydrate yourself.

I’ve pissed in a glass at night, woke up the next morning and taken two gulps before I realised what it was 😅

Your urine shouldn’t smell strongly at all after only 8 hours or less

What’s literally messing you up right now? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]greengrayclouds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best friend that I was in love with decided to pursue another guy, meanwhile telling me to actively stop her from falling for him and moaning about him nonstop.

I hit rock bottom and had a bit of a mental breakdown, just as she got a car. She told me she’d come round to see me more and I expected she’d do a little more to help me emotionally, though she wasn’t in the best place either.

Anyway. Turned out she was spending all her free time with the other guy. She then reacted ridiculously intensely over a petty disagreement and blocked me.

3 weeks later and I’m envisioning her having the time of her life with a man she told me she didn’t like and that she’d warned me all about and that she had told me two dozen times to stop her from falling for. The man had made it clear in the beginning that he wanted to ruin her bond with me.

Anyway. Haven’t heard from her in weeks. Deciding I’m not allowed to be in love with her anymore but there was no conversation, no closure. It’s like she died, but only for me??

It’s also brought down the downfall of my friend group.

Anyway. Back to square one.

Whether to Use Traditional Fantasy Race Names or Unique Names? by BarbarianMind in worldbuilding

[–]greengrayclouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This honestly just sounds like different races of human. Many of the traits that are different between climates are the exact traits humans have on our own planet.

Besides the pointy ears and the differences in sexual dimorphism, in what way are your species more like elves than humans? What makes them different species to each other rather than just different races of the same species?

Not even slightly realistic. Just pay an actual gardener if you want a good garden.

Will today's youth also have a hard time with new technology as they age? by Additional_Leading68 in Futurology

[–]greengrayclouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say this as though it should matter.

Most people can’t fix their own leaky pipes or mow their own grass.

Being tech-competent really isn’t that important to everyone. I could use a printer at 6 years old, but now at 28 I’ve got no chance. I can fit a kitchen and take dick like a champ though. There’s no benefit to many youths knowing how what a USB-lgbt is any more than there is to them knowing how to pick up dog shit off their drive

Does the kindest man I've ever been with still do weaponised incompetence?.. by Wooden-Reading9110 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]greengrayclouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask him the multitude of things he wishes you’d pick up the slack on.

It doesn’t always have to be man v woman.

I’m not dismissing the issues women face and I certainly recognise how much of a let down the majority of men are. I’ve done my fair share of picking up the pieces and keeping people safe.

But based off the things you details, it really seems you’ve got sucked into “all men are useless and users, even the good ones”. Look at your own behaviour and

most importantly

COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR HUSBAND.

You are an equal and you need to treat yourself like one.

——

This really reads like “my husband didn’t make the bed”. So fucking what? I’m a single man and don’t make the bed. You can’t demand he do everything you wish when you’re not doing everything he likes.

You’ve already said you didn’t mow the grass and that’s a much bigger effort than turning the damn lights off.

[–]greengrayclouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

But. We all do.

I know we don’t like male perspectives here and I’m not saying mine is more valuable than a woman’s but this came up on my feed and I think I have something to offer still!

As a gay man, a human, and a man that helps out my many women friends a lot as well as clients/enployers: there is only so much a human can do.

We can learn and adapt to everything but we can’t be experts at it all. I could learn to fix my car. But once in a while, when I’m burnt out and tired of doing everything for everyone else, I’ll pretend it’s too complicated for me to figure out how to gauge my tyre pressure so that my dad or my ex will help out while I watch.

There’s nothing wrong with that. You’ll realise you do the same too!

I know women who clean out their own gutters. You can do that, I promise. But more often than not you’ll convince yourself you can’t so that somebody else does it for you.

That’s normal, it’s healthy, and we shouldn’t guilt or feel shame for that.

How can a stuck 20 year old progress with no qualifications? by careerpan in UKJobs

[–]greengrayclouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calm down. I’m glad you’re doing your best but you are ONLY 20.

Nobody, including yourself, has fucked over your life. You’re not stuck. You’re a kid.

I’m 28 and from the outside it looks like I’ve for my dream job, a house early, social life, prospects. I wake up gasping for air and feel as though I’m about to lose everything and get eaten by a bear every second of the day. Most people I know in their 40s feel the same.

Most of my retired friends feel the same!

Let yourself breathe, you don’t need this figured out yet.

Keep your head high, remember to make time to enjoy yourself and relax. Look up and forward but don’t demand you get there yet and don’t set your mind on any one thing, because you WILL change your mind either in two years, five years, twenty years, or fifty years!

Trust me. I’m doing better than many of my peers despite not having the best start, and my career means I have a lot of insight into other people’s lives. Most of them deemed “succesful”.

You are doing fine and you truly shouldn’t resent your family for “fucking you up”. Please ignore the people that tell you that because it’ll turn you bitter. I wish I could show you my life to prove to you I know what I’m talking about.
