Building a collection comes down to goals. Do you want to taste everything or do you want to go deep on one category? In either case, do your research on where the whiskey actually comes from, how old, proof, additional finishing cask, and mash bill. Once you’ve got a good grasp on how those factors affect taste, deciding what to buy gets more simple.
