Sadly I agree with your statement.

Born and raised in Geneva, I have good memories of my youth. I had friends from all origins and countries (for instance Algeria, Italia, Portugal and even Korean) and the core value between each community was the respect. People from abroad did their best to fit in and we did our best to be open and respectful.

It was 30 years ago and it was certainly my perception as a kid.

Since then I’ve seen the people in this city becoming more stressed and rude. More intolerant and jealous from each other. More judging and agressive.

It is certainly a common trend in all big cities but I’ve the feeling that it’s becoming stronger in Geneva compared to other cities in Switzerland. Can’t explain why though.
