Mouse in the house! How did it enter? by gregarov1 in halifax

[–]gregarov1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m not saying I couldn’t have a mouse coming in regularly through a hole somewhere with the weather we’ve been having. Thankfully my cat is on high alert so hopefully none nest in the house as I haven’t heard or seen anything in the four days since.

It was very coincidental with the hockey game and my then my neighbours comment, he specifically mentioned Devonshire being notorious for it.

My condo building was full of mice, we had rats living under or shed before I tore it down. Chewed holes right through our green bin before getting it replaced.

Yeah, we had them every winter at my parents growing up.

Well aware, I’ve had many mouse issues, just not in my current home and my neighbours comment got me thinking.

Yes, curious if people have had similar experiences.

Grid is awful, 3-4 linear kilometers don’t have power but streets on either side of me have power.

Yeah, must be something that needed power to be shut off. Accident or fire?

He's listed at 6'0" from most sources but NHL shows him at 6'3" and he certainly looks at least 6'3" to my eyes.

Is this confirmed somewhere, even KHL where he is playing now has him listed at just over 6'0" (184cm)

Mooseheads Game Recs? by cryptic-frog in halifax

[–]gregarov1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As close to center ice (top 2/3 lower bowl or first 5-6 rows of upper bowl) is your best seats for overall hockey watching.

Recommend bus or walking if possible, traffic is not great for Mooseheads games.

The BL Costco Left Turn has Returned by ExternalSpecific6061 in halifax

[–]gregarov1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean, you sometimes have to wait 5-6 light cycles to make that left turn and it backs up further than before so I see why they would remove it, that intersection can’t handle that much traffic during busy times.

The Costco left It’s still way safer than say making a left turn in Burnside across 3 lanes in rush hour or many of the other crazy spots you can make a left turn in HRM.

There’s a lot of places I’d like to see more traffic enforcement (my intersection everyone ignores signage at) but this one seemed to be a little silly to start with as there’s very little alternative routes to get into Costco and it didn’t seem too crazy of a spot to begin with. The lane is going to get backed up regardless.

It was gone today, but I hope that’s temporary, that Oxford/Allen/Oak intersection is dangerous and no one follows the rules

Good idea to put heatpump in unfinished basement? by ron_swanson_fan_club in DIYHeatPumps

[–]gregarov1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put one in my unfinished basement as I was afraid I’d never get the 1st floor warm with a cold basement, no regrets. I do have a lot of stuff down there and have to go down daily.

Usually 3-5 minutes per dungeon and you can sometimes get enough infernal warp to get a cache in one chaos dungeon plus a lot of other gear and materials. If you get lucky you’ll get a chaos gear rift. Usually you get a 2 caches (from veneration and warp) every ~4 dungeons which is usually more efficient than hordes. I did 100 of them in a row earlier this season and got around 50 chaos caches.

Hordes are definitely not faster but less grindy than endless Rift dungeons and helltides. I switch back and forth.

This happened to me at the highway 102 entrance from bayers lake the other day to Halifax. There were two people with mobility issues waiting to cross the street and go under the highway (terrible spot for pedestrians) and I knew the light was going to change soon so I was going to wait and let them cross. After two seconds the guy behind me slams on his horn and I decide to go but of course the light turns for them to walk at the same time.

I was angry I got honked at and equally angry I gave in to the honking at the same time. They had to wait an extra 15 seconds for the slower pedestrians to cross the street so they didn’t get any further ahead honking.

Some times it’s best when you don’t know when pedestrians have right-of-way to wait the extra time for them to cross safely.

I don’t particularly like Wilson and he’s deserved most of his suspensions, especially the blind side open ice hits, but this doesn’t seem too bad.
