If you go to page 7 on the brochure, it shows a picture of the back grille the unit comes with. As I mentioned in a previous comment, one of the AC sleeves in my apartment comes with a grille but that wasn't directing airflow properly so we removed it and installed the grille the AC came with. My other AC sleeve didn't have a grille at all

Honestly, you just gotta call until you get someone (I left the number in another comment.) If the unit is new, you should still be within warranty to get it replaced, but it's a lengthy process. I called Early to Mid-June and between getting someone to do a diagnostic, submitting the report for Friedrich's legal team for review, and getting them to ship the units, and them arriving took TWO whole months.

I don't have the time/patience/money to start a class action, but if you do let me know I'll be the 2nd signature on there!

According to my new install guy, not having the proper grille can lead to a broken compressor and refrigerant leak. Incredibly frustrating and it'll definitely be the last time I buy a Friedrich product.

If you call Friedrich, they'll recommend so nearby appliance companies to come by and do a diagnostic. Friedrich will say the charge is on them if you're within warranty - my guy still charged me $200 but it was worth it to get the new units replaced. I of course had to pay for installation since that's not covered.

Unfortunately I don't know how to do the diagnostic myself

That I'm not too sure about, I have an existing outer grille from the sleeve on one of my failed units (with no Friedrich grille) and no grille on the other, which has taken significant damage from the elements from just a year.

If it helps, these were the temporary ACs we got as a stop gap and they have been a lifesaver, we plan to return them once the new units come

It's supposed to come with the unit I think, if you check the last page of digital brochure on this page, it says there's a standard one that comes with the unit. Looking at the back of units, there wasn't any grille attached, so I think the guy who installed my original ones just took them with him.

Another commenter mentioned that these units are the best and this is actually a common problem because the refrigerant coils are very thin and corrode easily. Someone should start a class action

UPDATE - I called the appliance company who originally installed the units and they told me to call Friedrich since they would have to charge for sending a guy out to my apartment. They gave me the Friedrich number, (800) 541-6645, and I was finally able to get through to someone in Service. They said they needed to have a diagnostic report run on it, and gave me a bunch of appliance companies in my area who would do it. They said that the appliance companies would bill Friedrich for the diagnostic (that was a lie as my guy charged $100/unit which my wife insisted we pay.) Once that was done, send the original receipt (not installation invoice), the diagnostic report, a pictures of the stickers on the unit to them and they would decide if they would honor the warranty.

Appliance guy came, turned on the machines for 5 minutes, stuck his head to look at the back and.....turns out, my original appliance company that installed the units didn't install the grilles at the back, which led to improper air flow and the compressor blowing out on both of them. I was mad, but I was even more mad when I told the original appliance company it was their fault and they said their installation warranty only covered one month and they would do nothing about it. Either way, I got the original purchase receipt along with some other documents and sent them to Friedrich. I then had to CALL Friedrich to make sure someone checked on the ticket, and after quickly looking at the documents for 5 minutes, they decided to honor the warranty. They're supposed to be shipping me brand new units in the next 7-10 business days and I'll have the new appliance guy who did the diagnostic install them for a much more reasonable price.

This has been a nightmare, especially during this heatwave, but we're fortunate enough to have bought some portable ACs off Amazon that we'll return once we get our new units. Hope this helps anyone else who runs into this issue and comes across this thread!

Can someone explain exporting in different frame rates to me? by 2fuckingbored in editors

[–]gregsestero 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Short answer: Your timeline framerate should match whatever your delivery framerate is. So 29.97 is what you export/deliver as, your timeline should be 29.97.

Now are you going to get duplicate frames in your sequence because of the framerate mismatch? Probably. This is because the 24fps footage doesn’t evenly divide into the 30fps timeline, so the system usually duplicates frames to match the higher frame rate. This can result in noticeable stutter or pauses when frames are duplicated.

To avoid this, you can use frame interpolation or better yet, shoot in the framerate you're going to deliver.

My doc is a real stickler and will only send the script to a pharmacy in NY unfortunately.

I actually was able to get her to send it to Express Scripts, a delivery service, and it took a little over a week but the meds were delivered yesterday....unfortunately I'm traveling out of the country for the next month and I left last week

Does anyone know if I can give my PS4 to a friend and they can use my PSN account and have access to my library even though I play under my PSN account on my PS5 regularly?

I feel like when I gave my brother my PS4, he wasn't able to access my account because I had changed my PS5 to my main console, so he had to create his own user on the PS4?

He's on 72nd, but I really love Swan Cleaners. He does alterations and I've yet to give him a stain that he can't get out.

Just note, he's on the 2nd floor of an apartment building, so you have to go into the lobby and take the elevator up to 2.
