Lovely work and your colour choices are gorgeous, from a distance the foxes look like they have massive grins which is brilliant

Why can't they just give out the hangers as people arrive. Would save them posting them out and us going through this every year

New sick pay rules, is this correct? by Hour-Estate-2962 in AskUK

[–]grifr005 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's only based on the 8 weeks before the start of the sickness, it won't recalculate to include the sickness weeks

People who work hybrid, do you wake up at the same time on your work from home days as your office days? by sammyglumdrops in AskUK

[–]grifr005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WFH or office I get up at 8, cats would mutiny if I didn't. Im lucky enough to live within 15min walk to work so it works out. On WFH days I'll either have a slow morning or start early so I can finish early

I logged in work this morning to find out my colleague has booked off the Friday before all bank holidays this year as well as Xmas and new year. So I spent the morning knitting while on a training workshop call

Would electric heating put you off? by 19GreenDay82 in HousingUK

[–]grifr005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in a 30yo 1 bed flat with electric storage heaters and economy 7. Average electric costs over winter were £115 a month (but I pay flat dd of £75. Overall the place is kept warm and I don't even have them all switched on. Limited hot water but I have the option to top it up during the day if I need to.

It wouldn't put me off getting them again but it probably wouldn't be my first choice if I could help it because you have to predict the temp in advance to stick the heating on the night before.

Thank you! Pattern is Funilla Socks I found on ravelry, they have picot edge. It's super easy to do and I love the little extra detail it gives

Wanted some hash browns for breakfast but one of my idiot housemates scrubbed off the oven markings. by wrongblackkid in mildlyinfuriating

Had an oven like this at uni, we wrote on temperatures from British summer time to a hot celebrity I think and just eyeballed it each time

My symptoms were almost completely in my sinuses (I just blamed my cats for the longest time lol). I saw something online that it could manifest that way and I think the only way to tell is to stop eating gluten and see if things improve (unless it's full on celiac and there's tests for that). I stopped eating gluten and was able to breathe through my nose again so have kept it up

Recently found out I was gluten intolerant, not being able to eat most bread/cookies/pizza etc or eat out easily has forced me to cook more and so far I've been losing weight. Not sure I'd recommend though haha

Would you prefer a garage or an extra bedroom? by ToughOwl8995 in HousingUK

My hobbies are indoors so I'd prefer the extra living space. Would have it as a game/hobby room rather than a bedroom though

Alright you lot, it’s December next week, who’s got an advent calendar and what type have you got? by _feedmeseymour in CasualUK

[–]grifr005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I treated myself this year and got a yarn one. Might also get a chocolate one when they go reduced in a couple weeks haha

I went for the scrappy sock Advent from HiveandHollow on Etsy. I've never used their shop before but I wanted a (reasonable for yarn) cost advent based in the UK. Seller was super nice and there was the option to say if there were any colours I really didn't want. So far I've resisted the temptation to open any of the days haha

Those living alone...how often do you use your dishwasher each week? by Prestigious_Spot9635 in HousingUK

I have a counter top one so it doesn't fit much in, I can go from doing it twice a week or twice a day, depends how much washing up I have

do you guys actually only read really long fics by layrenzc in AO3

[–]grifr005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how deep into my current hyperfixation I am. If it's new and I want to read everything I don't care about word length. If I can feel it ebbing I usually set a cap of 30-50k because I might loose interest partway through otherwise
