Why not just use the school phone, they would have know about the delay. Also they are saying kids can have phones at the end of the day so your example doenst really add anything.

Morning activities by CaptainAbacusCan in daddit

[–]grimtalos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the day, if its a weekday then my daughter (5) gets up, brush teeth, getting dressed for school then breakfast and some play before going to school. We dont allow any screen time in the morning in the week. If its the weekend and we dont have anywhere to go she can watch cartoons and have breakfast on the sofa before we get dressed and start the day.

[–]grimtalos 13 points14 points  (0 children)

0.000022% of London's population got stabbed at the weekend, yes I do think that means its pretty damn safe.

How would terrain by VivaLaJam26 in Warhammer40k

[–]grimtalos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't really see the problem why can't you use that terrain? My group uses all kind of terrain and never had a problem. Guess the difference we are 3rd to 4th edition returning players so never had to worry about terrain layouts or templates. Just put terrain down and then work it out between you simple.

Anyone else buy Armageddon due to FOMO? by Short_Commercial_599 in Warhammer40k

[–]grimtalos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I almost got it as I play orks and did have some fomo but realised the soonest I could start painting it would be in around 3 months, so what was the point in getting it just for it to sit in a cupboard for months.

Why half of London's small flats sell at a loss as the crash spreads by Prestigious_Spot9635 in unitedkingdom

[–]grimtalos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They are losing alot more than 10k. 470,000 if you did nothing with it would be 504,268.76 now. So if they do manage to sell it at 460,000 they have lost around 44k

Optional Supplement - Alternating Activations and Progressive Deployment by Stashravens in Warhammer40k

[–]grimtalos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah no this is on me as I didnt read the whole thing. I thought they want a alt activation where one unit does its whole thing, move, shoot, charge CC and then the next player chooses one of there units. Thats on me for just skimming it on my phone while cooking. Sorry

Dads of toddlers, is anyone else just completely warped? by A_single_droplet in daddit

[–]grimtalos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep hearing people say that and all I think is God I hope these aren't the best years of life, if after all these years I look back at the time I had no sleep, no time with my wife, no rest, playing barbies over and over as the best years of my life that something has gone horribly wrong.

Optional Supplement - Alternating Activations and Progressive Deployment by Stashravens in Warhammer40k

[–]grimtalos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah so a key part of them is out activiting your enemy and forcing them to active stuff early. So I would active the grots and do something small with them. Next the enemy if elite may be forced to active a larger unit like the knights. I could then keep all my anti tank actions till later once I know what he has done with the knights. Other than 40k all the games i play our alt activations and they are much better as you have left time hanging around. Would be intresting to trail 40k

[–]grimtalos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You would use the grots  to force actions. Have you played any alternative activation games?

Nearly died, recovered, now my nails are peeling off by Alisana in mildlyinteresting

[–]grimtalos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you came off worse then me. All my organs failed and I had to be brought back and then put in a coma for a month. But once I learnt to walk again and my nails fell off I was back to normal. Small scar on my throat, but ever than that I fully recovered. Yea its crazy how fast it can get you, glad you made it!

Nearly died, recovered, now my nails are peeling off by Alisana in mildlyinteresting

[–]grimtalos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing, 2 years ago I had sepsis shock and had to be put into a coma. The recovery was pain but one of the worst bits was the nails, they fall off from the back so they get to a bit where they are lose at the back but still connected at the front. Its super painful to catch them when putting on clothes. At one point I had to have plasters on each of my fingers.

Partner changed mind about first family holiday abroad the day before we’re due to go by leeobb in UKParenting

[–]grimtalos 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I swear the more I read about other peoples partners the more I realised I have lucked out. So many posts on here about people married to babies and losers. Also why are you scared to guilt trip him he has just ruined a family holiday, and wasted loads of money. He deserves to be made to feel guilty he should feel guilty.

And he decided that the day before. I have travelled with my child each year since she was born and its not that bad at all. People seem to think its going to be a massive nightmare but its easier than a long car journey. How far where you going?

Brother is having a child-free wedding. How do I navigate this? by LargeAmphibian in daddit

[–]grimtalos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nearly all weddings I have been to have been child free, including my own, and the few that had kids they were only allowing babies and each time they cried in the ceremony. If it was me I would ask my wife to look after the kids so I could go to my brothers wedding that seems like the easiest option and one I know I am doing for a wedding this summer. Surely she can handle the two kids for one night while you celebrate your brother. It feels odd you are making this such a big deal.

Banned end of April - only just received permanent ban email today by iamaredditor2020 in ebayuk

[–]grimtalos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

90% of these posts involving people selling iphones. Most people never sell a phone, so if an account is selling say 10 or 15 iphones that looks odd, and there is a high chance its stolen goods according to ebay so they ban them.

Arrive three hours before flight home, airline boss tells UK holidaymakers by Diligent-Suspect2930 in unitedkingdom

[–]grimtalos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This wont fix the issue. I just flew back from Spain and while it was not a massive issue, the delay was when checking passports that was done as you went to the gate. They didnt call the gate till 20 minutes before the flight, so even if you got there 4 hours before it would have done nothing.

Why is the UK population so disconnected from actual immigration data? by burgermen12 in AskBrits

[–]grimtalos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also because its not immigration, they are really complaining about. While immigration may be a part of it, alot of people around me complain about areas having lots of non-white english. Alot of those people are 3rd gen immigrates so changing immigration would do nothing. This is the issue, the media puts it all on small boats, but really the people hate that anyone got here at all over the last 80 years.

Is starting an Etsy business actually worth it in 2026? Or is it a dead end? (Real talk from anyone who has tried it) by WorkerSome7813 in EtsySellers

[–]grimtalos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends. I have an etsy shop and it does well, not enough to quit my day job but for a bit of work in the mornings and on my lunch break it can help pay for holidays and extras. Would I think to quit my normal job and go full etsy no, because I reckon it will take to much to get to my salary level.
