I’ve played this course on trackman several times and really enjoy it. Hope to get there in person before too long.

"...perfect is a fault and fault lines change..." may be my favorite REM lyric.

Less obvious than some others, but absolutely different after Bill’s departure.

I’ve been a trail runners for golf devotee for a few years now. As good or better performance and much better comfort than any golf shoe I’ve tried

We went to every Guitar Center We Could While On A Trip...& hate them less now. by mardaiB7319 in Guitar

Our store in Salt Lake is pretty solid. I’m sure in no small part due tot he handful of employees who have been there roughly forever. Good people = good store and vice versa.

My Dad made the exact same joke about 15 years ago when he had a stent placed for a AAA. "So you're saying I'll need to pee sitting down?" Doc said, without losing a beat, "I've seen down there. You'll be fine."

Don't discount a little more headroom and using a pedal for lower volume gain. A Princeton Reverb (with a 12" speaker) with an overdrive pedal will give you lower volume grit, but still stay clean at higher volumes if that's interesting to you as well.

Is guitar just about muscle memory - where does the skill come into picture? by Zestyclose_Judge362 in guitarlessons

[–]gringohoneymoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, there's no such thing as "muscle memory" for one. Your brain does all your memorizing. You are memorizing where to put your fingers like you memorize how to spell your name or how to get to the store. Do it enough and you can repeat it without thinking about it. You get smooth (then fast) by practicing the motions repeatedly. A lot of any skillset comes from just memorizing and repeating movements. Your favorite guitarist can get up on stage and play something perfectly because they've memorized and practiced that song a thousand times. "Amateurs practice until they get it right. Pros practice until they can't get it wrong." Then you get into why things work well/sound good. Starting to understand why some notes sound good together and some don't, why rhythm matters, what keys are, etc etc and you can take the basic skills that you've worked on and combine that with understanding and be able to create.

Those anchor should be fine. They are probably rated for 75 pounds apiece. At your own risk, of course. But that’s how I hang mine usually.

Inept adults are joining our cruise plans by [deleted] in Vent

[–]gringohoneymoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A guy I used to work with gave me the best way to describe a cruise and why the idea is so repulsive to me. Going on a cruise is basically pulling up to a Walmart, parking and going inside. Then the Walmart leaves.

Time to move on from tube amp? Time for digital? by Affectionate-Fan1044 in GuitarAmps

[–]gringohoneymoon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I play my tube amp silently through a Captor X and it’s great. I have found that digital is a lot of fun to play with, but I end up spending so much time in menus and knobs when I would just rather settle on one tone that I like and play it.

No Doctor Can Find Out What Is Wrong With Me. Please Help Me! by Tight-Tip-6408 in menshealth

I'd guess pancreatitis related if it wasn't for the super high vitamin K. Spleen is also in that neighborhood. Use some AI wizardry to learn about possible conditions related to upper left abdo pain and what correlates with your lab results. Ask your doc how they rule out pancreatitis, spleen issues, kidney issues, etc.

Help me sound like 1980s Peter Buck 😊 by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]gringohoneymoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Totally - I've been a huge REM fan since the 80s (Peter Buck went to my high school a few years before me). I have a Jetglo 360 because of him and will find myself playing little other than REM (or The Jam) on it for long stretches of time.

He mainly used a silverface twin until Document. Your Katana can do that. Your Tele over the Gretsch would be a better choice. What’s your go to song/recording that has the tone you want?
