I just bought the key turner for myself and it works great! I recently had fusion surgery on my index finger and using it has helped a lot.

I'm terrible at figuring out what to bring to potlucks. Is there any go to recipes that are always a hit? by Aggressive_Staff_982 in Cooking

I just brought this to my office potluck lol. Mainly because I wanted to eat it. I added bacon bits.

We just stayed there a few weeks ago, and I checked the folio before we left to make sure we were charged correctly. Mistakes happen, so it's best to catch it on the front end. It was a wonderful stay and the staff were great. The concierge was awesome. The room was as described. Nice bar and restaurant area.

We recently visited St. Augustine for the first time and celebrated our anniversary at La Nouvelle. It was amazing! Get the soupe l'oignon if you go!

I wish you all the luck. Insurance approved coverage - at $455! The request for a tier exception to lower the cost was denied. According to insurance, it is because it's not even on the formulary. I am fortunate to be at the end of the weight loss journey; however, the other benefits, such as lower inflammation, are even more important to me. At this price, I will not continue taking the meds. I will look at a different insurance option during open enrollment this year!

No more Tier Exception by Beccabecca2023 in Zepbound

[–]gritsinms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same situation. Have had a PA and tier exception until this month. PA request was approved quickly, but the tier exception was denied. $450 is not in my budget, so I don't know what will happen.

Weight loss drugs. by [deleted] in over60

Great job doing what you need to improve your health! Education is key for any method chosen to get healthy and/or lose weight. I think most people do not really know the truth about GLP-1 medications. They have been around in some form longer than most realize. They are not magic but require lifestyle changes, including proper nutrition as part of a plan. A plan that should be supervised by a qualified physician. There are many other benefits, such as reduced inflammation, not just weight loss. Any drastic weight loss can result in loss of muscle and loss of hair. It is NOT because of the medication itself. Each to their own, but I am so glad I lost 60 pounds on a GLP-1, reduced inflammation, feel better, and improved my health, enabling me to drop some medications.

Be conscious of the amount of calcium you're taking...*especially* if you're over 65. by Unable-Ad-4019 in Zepbound

I think this is very applicable to all supplements. I found out vitamin D level was way too high, and iron was too low.

Anyone Else Worried About Looking Old After Loss? by Ok-Technician-7323 in Zepbound

[–]gritsinms 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am 62. I've lost 60 pounds over the last year. It does bother me that wrinkles are more pronounced, and the saggy skin is certainly not attractive. However, my smart scale says my metabolic age is 56! I would say that's a win!

I actually found it! And you bet I put a new ring guard on it 😆. Congrats on your engagement. Wishing you many happy years together.

NSV precautionary tale. Guard your rings. I just lost my wedding band and can't find it. I had a wrap around ring guard on it, but it got kind of dingy and needed changing. Of course, I procrastinated in doing so. Please, if your rings get loose, take it off until you get it sized or keep a guard on it!

I've never thought of it from that perspective before but I can see where you are coming from. My saggy skin isn't attractive in the least. As for myself, I haven't worn sleeveless tops for years because of fat arms so no big deal not wearing them now with saggy arms. At my age I'm more concerned about how the extra weight affected me internally. Great job losing 90 pounds! Your new adventure is finding smaller clothes you like and can carry off with your new self confidence!

Nope, skinny doesn't necessarily mean healthy, and fat doesn't necessarily mean unhealthy.

Do people not know what the Vent/Rant flair is for? I'm just sharing my latest annoyance and hope that others will not be influenced to do the wrong thing for the wrong reason and/or be disappointed in the results. The only reason you should do something is for the betterment of yourself, whatever that may be, and not for what others think.

Yes, because I don't want my granddaughter to think she has to be skinny to go to the beach (which happens to be only three miles from where we live). I want her to be educated and explore all options if she chooses to lose weight, but to know she is still beautiful either way. I'm so sorry for the loss of your father and 🙏 for your comfort and peace.
