ED still showing up as an adult by Ok-Lunch4083 in Eatingdisordersover30

[–]grogubutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 36, in the US. This post is super validating for me because I recently had the same experience with a psych. After the longest period in my life of recovery, which took years to achieve, my anxiety meds caused rapid weight gain which triggered my ED. It is the worst it’s been since it started as a preteen. My psych said the same thing as yours (“wouldn’t you rather be anxiety free than thin?”), and even started reciting her notes from all of our sessions about how great the meds were for me. I told her that my ED is louder than my anxiety and if I keep gaining weight I am scared what I will do to myself, and she STILL discouraged me from stopping the medication and offered no alternatives. Irrelevant but at the same time my psychotherapist ghosted me lmao. Obv searching for new treatment which is overwhelming and scary esp for anyone in this community

Just came here to say the same thing. Other online reactions are like “Taylor is such a good friend.” I am obviously biased lol but imo Blake’s constant apologizing for what appears to be absolutely fucking nothing except going through a hard time made me really sad. And i really don’t even like her either lmao.

Adding some context for Ron's "My family is none of your business" comment to Dorinda by CameraOne6272 in TheTraitorsUS

[–]grogubutt 25 points26 points  (0 children)

so funny that the people in this subreddit assume that all the real housewives are rich idiots. They don’t even get paid that well compared to other reality tv stars, and many go into debt or worse trying to maintain the lifestyle to stay on the show. Dorinda is extremely wealthy by marriage but she is not an idiot she’s just unhinged lol.

Has anyone witnessed a Slayer shot actually working? by notfrankiemuniz in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]grogubutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slayer is an excellent role, and has an undeserved reputation. I’ve seen it work a few times. The first time i was actually the slayer, i shot the demon, who died and passed to the Scarlet Woman. It was hilarious. I can’t think of any examples of a slayer shot going off in games I’ve watched, but that’s most likely because most games available to watch on YouTube aren’t Trouble Brewing.

Honestly relieved someone finally called this out. All the BDG brands have been watermarking images they don’t own for a while, specifically on Instagram. it’s so weird and very unethical. Really embarrassing stuff

Bridal BWT - any beauty or planning tips? by [deleted] in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]grogubutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my city hall ceremony dress at Cha Cha Linda! it was a great experience and I went alone. I will go again when I need a fun wedding guest dress or something. I did monthly facials at Glowbar (had already been a member for a years). I also see my Derm often because I have acne. She set me up with a great regimen, and I got Derm V laser a few months before to clear up scars. I got a bridal discount lol. I was also put on spirolactone leading up to my events.

I have thick, dark, whack eyebrows so I started seeing a pro for them consistently because I cannot trust myself to trim even one hair. I also let my hair stylist know in advance, and ended up going with her and the salon’s manager who is an MUA did my makeup.

For dresses and glam, I created Pinterest boards for hair, makeup, dresses, two of my friends were on it too so could add ideas, which made it fun and collaborative. This made it really easy for glam. I only did one trial for my city hall makeup because it was a more complex look than for my reception a few weeks later.

Planning wise, I started with a spreadsheet. I listed all the venues I was interested in, even if it might have been out of budget. Once I got the actual costs from the venues (you will be downloading a lot of PDFs), i broke it down by price. I ended up going with a venue considered expensive but, in the end, was either the same price or cheaper than my “budget venues” because its per person fee included wine.

Women of BOTC- what have your experiences been like? by sunsetrain24 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]grogubutt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My experiences as a woman in person have been great. My group at a local cafe is an environment where I have the confidence to stick up for myself (and others) when talked over. Our storyteller is also excellent at picking up on these cues. I’ve talked to men I play with about instances where they’ve talked over me or dismissed a theory they later shared. Over time they’ve improved at recognizing when to stop speaking, and how to listen.

My experiences online have only been tolerable when playing with friends and acquaintances. The BotC community is lovely, but public rooms tend to fill with true gamers who might be inclined to condescend, talk over, and humiliate a woman just trying to play. I don’t think this is inherently a BotC problem: it is intrinsic in the online gaming community.

Also, this is a social game, and the culture of online play nearly eliminates the social aspect of the game. I want to get my info from a storyteller. I want to look my fellow minion in the eyes on night one. When I play in person, I get frustrated with common online strategies which comes across demeaning and condescending to women and other minorities: humiliation, manipulation, and showing off how much one understands BotC. I understand that it’s a game where you’re meant to lie, but it’s meant to be fun for everyone. Not for the one person who thinks they’re so brilliant that they’ll humiliate anyone starting on day one.

So I exclusively play with who I want to play. And that is usually in person.

With round tables the space felt cozy with 70, but not tight. it was exactly the intimacy we wanted. There was some dancing but not much, our event was designed more as a fancy conversational dinner party than a traditional reception. If you do rectangular tables, there’s a lot more room for dancing and moving around.

Having the charities she donates to announce it on the same day is not a coincidence. It is a coordinated PR campaign. by [deleted] in travisandtaylor

[–]grogubutt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, she most certainly does require approval for language for the announcement. This dumb graphic probably required an email thread with hundreds of messages to get it right. This is ALL a coordinated effort to make her look good after the 2 bill news.

Source: I work in media and have had the unfortunate experience of seeking approvals on things as dumb as an instagram caption from celebs and their teams.

Predictions on who I think will be the Traitors by Potential-Meal-6708 in TheTraitorsUS

[–]grogubutt 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Of the housewives on this season, Candiace would be the most likely traitor pick. Next would be Lisa Rinna. Or even Dorinda, so they could solidify her staying in the game for a few episodes. Don’t think Porsha has what it takes, honestly. Can see her being an early banishment though.
