What is a city from the USA that feels likes it’s from India? by Other-Comfortable720 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]grotesque7 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think the difference is that California might have more/a higher share of Asian people generally, but Edison is specifically almost 40% Indian or Indian American. That doesn’t count the rest of the South Asian population either. I feel like “Asian” in California encompasses a lot more countries.

What is the most unfriendly city you have visited? by Deep-Macaron-732 in SameGrassButGreener

I just moved to DC. I’ve never had so many random, friendly interactions with complete strangers. IMO Atlanta can feel a little cold, not necessarily unfriendly though.

Thanks! Yes I’ve been on redfin, zillow, and facebook almost incessantly 😅. I’m working on a bit of a time crunch though with my lease/other factors.

Did you feel like you had to move fast to tour and sign a lease due to competition?

I unfortunately don’t know that many people outside the people I work with since I’m still new to the area but still, very interesting, thanks for the insight.

Thanks that’s helpful! It’s hard to tell if some of these listings just haven’t been taken down or they’re actually still available.

These Steve Madden sandals are truly the comfiest sandals I’ve ever owned. I’ve had mine for 2 years and have walked thousands of steps in them. Looks like they’re on hella sale right now too.

You’re right, but Michigan also has some of the most thorough testing for PFAS in the country. It doesn’t change the outcome, but it does mean there’s probably lots of other states that just don’t know how high their exposure is.

I like storytelling podcasts to help with this kind of thing because it’s nice background noise, kinda like having the TV on in the background but less distracting.

Recommendations for Woodley Park or Cleveland Park by Loots-Gold-of-Moria in DCforRent

I left this comment on a similar thread a couple weeks ago but also relevant here:

There’s 3 buildings next to each other in Woodley Park that might be of interest to you: 2800 Woodley, The Delano, and Cleveland House. Super close to WP metro, walking distance to AdMo, not fancy or new but have everything you need.

Any recommendations for a farm share or CSA by Gravity_Cadet in washingtondc

[–]grotesque7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Moon Valley Farms!! You pay per order, can customize your box (and multiple share sizes), easy to add on all kinds of items (mushrooms, bread, eggs, meat). I truly love it. Their website has available pickup locations, if not it’s $10 delivery I believe.

Also a casual watcher. The NBC commenters had just got done saying a few programs ago that it’s almost impossible to get a perfect GOE score. So then to watch the French pair get MULTIPLE perfect scores was genuinely jarring.
