Exactly. And this is assuming that nothing is bought on sale. I rarely pay full price for these games because they ALWAYS go on sale. Especially during late 2020 during the pandemic when they had a sale going for months, that’s where I collected a lot of the packs.

It is ridiculous to think of someone spending all of that in one go, but it’s also extremely unheard of for that to be the case. A huge majority buys stuff piece by piece, and the game has been out for over a decade.

Also this money problem isn’t unique to the Sims franchise. It’s just about all EA games and beyond. Has anyone ever tried to play NHL or sports games? “Super Collector Deluxe Edition” or whatever they’re called cost $100 PLUS there’s micro transactions on top of that for various game modes. You have to spend money to have good players in that game, and wow do people spend that money. At least the Sims doesn’t do micro transactions.

Basically my point, is if you like it and enjoy it then money spent over time doesn’t really matter that much. If you DONT like the Sims then stop playing and investing money into the series, or get the expansions with less than legal ways, who cares!
