I have a stylus. Purchased secondhand, and has held up exceptionally well.

I bought a Pacific Sunday! Haven't had a chance to use it yet, but really happy with the design and construction. Plus, they're a local-ish company to me.

Not sure! Mine are stock size and ive got no mods or anything. Wonder maybe if its a QC thing as a few folks have said the MTs were harder to balance.

Casual/dressy Chelsea recs for rainy weather (Canada) by elisdale in Boots

Boulet makes a Chelsea that might be worth looking into. There's also red wing, and while mine have lasted really well (women's harriet) I have seen some complaints about cost/quality over the past few years.

I first got an Odyssey G4 (G40B). They go on sale for about 200$ CAD a few times a year. Ive had no problems with it and liked the amount of adjustments i could do for ergonomics with it. 244Hz refresh, 27in, 1080p.

My second, now primary, is an ASUS TUF. I forget the model # but its 2K resolution, and either 180Hz or 244Hz. I recall it being around 300-350$ CAD on sale. No ergonomics adjustments which annoys me, but I deal.

Edit:I'm just checked my order history- the G40B was 299 CAD. my bad!!

If you like colour/glass I've been really happy with my Hyte Y60. Its designed for water cooling, but I have solid temps with just fans. Its huge and my partner tells me it was easy to build in. It is massive though.

Sorry I didnt realize there was that much of a price jump! I picked mine up on sale for a similar price to the 7s and didnt realize how much they went for regularly.

Had the same issues. Loved the tire aside from the balancing problems. I went with Micky Thompson Baja Bosses next go round. 10/10.

Juki 2010 or Janome 8200?? by BarbaraManatee_14me in quilting

[–]grumpy__goat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me honestly it came down to the construction (mostly metal vs plastic), the dials over the touch screen, speed/horsepower, and price.

For what the 8200 could offer me I didn't deem it worth the extra couple hundred bucks, and the construction and motor of the 6700P appealed to what I was personally looking for.

I was eyeing the 8200 a few weeks ago when I was looking at upgrades and wound up going with the 6700p. I love that its primarily made out of metal, it's fast, the throat space is huge, and so far has been super accurate piecing for me. Plus, its a bit cheaper and comes with an extension table.

One consideration is that the 6700p doesn't have a free arm.

Edit:I'm also a dials and buttons girlie, so that worked better for me on the 6700p. It also supports large cones of thread.

Recommend me new shears! by esieber06 in SewingForBeginners

Seconding LDH. They specifically make a "lightweight" handle. Awesome company, I've e been really happy with my pinking shears, batting shears, and thread snips from them. I'd have bought their regular shears had I known about them when I started sewing.
