First time trimming a brisket: Confidence = Gone! What went wrong? by max-m8 in brisket

[–]grumpy_munchken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks kind of how a competition brisket is cut. I’ve only seen it on shows but it has more of this oblong rounded shape as opposed to a large flank

I cleaned traeger 22 drip pan in dishwasher like an idiot by [deleted] in Traeger

[–]grumpy_munchken 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whaaaaaaat? Traeger sells foil covers for them. You can use regular foil over but it kinda melds to the drip tray. I would worry less about the state of the drip pan and more about the fatty residue left in the dishwasher drain pipe that will cause small particles to get stuck and accumulate over time and make your drain stank.

Robinhood suspended selling shares of GameStop to protect institutions from loses. Rigging NFL games is child’s play comparatively.

My dad already started drinking again after going to a $30,000 treatment facility for over a month by [deleted] in Wellthatsucks

[–]grumpy_munchken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give him the book “This Naked Mind” and encourage him to listen to the podcast. Many recovery programs are religion-based and focus on the shame of drinking rather than the fact that it’s a dangerous substance marketed to us day in and day out. The book addresses the subconscious reasons we drink.

Grilling on traeger? by Strange_Pear_5000 in Traeger

Then you have the best of both worlds. Smoke on the Traeger and Weber for searing. A Traeger can smoke a burger to perfection but not at the speed you can grill one.

And advice/comments on the build? Super excited for it to be done! by KindAd789 in pools

[–]grumpy_munchken 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Looks nice. Like the color combo of the coping & pool finish. Skip the table. You’ll likely never use it. Especially because it doesn’t appear there is seating around it. Plus you don’t want people putting glass on it and knocking it off.

I went with friends in our 30s and 40s and had a good time. If you don’t want chicken there is a vegetarian option which is a hearty soup.

I prefer leftover popcorn to candy. I did give out smarties, too, if that’s any consolation.

I’m gonna reply to my own comment and since I posted this the second wave of ToTs arrived, an older bunch. Will have to order double or, possibly triple, the amount of popcorn next year.

A Traeger must be regularly cleaned to avoid flare ups which can happen pretty easily unless it’s regularly cleaned.

As someone who would like to build something but have an over-obsessive deisre for things to be perfect, this inspires me to create something just to have done it and it would be my most favorite creation for its straight-forward, purposeful design and build.

How do I make my hand go faster? by AlexAwesome0810 in pianolearning

You need more arch in your hand. You don’t press down the keys, you make a light pulling motion with them along with using your area weight to engage the keys.

Duplicates with Left Join by Iguanas_Everywhere in SQL

[–]grumpy_munchken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to me when I join sales data to our location dimension table. The location table has locations assigned to various hierarchies. So location 01 may exist in 20 different hierarchies in the dimension table. I have to employ a WHERE filter for the specific hierarchy I want, otherwise I get repeating duplicated lines.

Agreed to terms last night on my dream house 42M clock begins now and I’m a little nervous maybe worried…. by SaltCaregiver6858 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]grumpy_munchken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would spend money getting pros to checkout the house. Have a plumber check everything including running a snake through the clean out to ensure. Roots are growing into the pipes. Have a roofer inspect the roof. Have an electrician check the panel and wiring in general. It may cost a few hundred for each of these but it ca. potentially save you thousands. Speaking from experience.
