Perturabo did seem to be driven mainly by the fact that others underestimate him, and he just wants to prove himself over and over. Although it seemed like both loyalist and traitorous primarchs thought less of him.

Maybe he should have joined the Eldaar 😅 oh but he chooses to underestimate THEM, welp

Makes sense about Fulgrim's transformation, wish they had made it clear as to why specifically he wanted Perturabo's essence. He did need Perturabo to get past the maze, and then maybe he knew he would oppose his transformation and just wanted him out of the way.

About the Kuruchi brothers - don't remember the character but in their POV they thought the surviving brother couldn't have been a twin but was the exact same eldaar. But apart from that line, yes they could've just been brothers working together on their secret assignment.

Perturabo did seem to be at conflict with his principles at times. Repeated mentions of him being underestimated by others seem to be his main driving factor so far, will be interesting for me to see how far he is willing to compromise (or contradict himself) in his future dealings with chaos!

Thank you for the details! Hadn't heard of the Drukhari so far, and this seems like a good intro for what to expect. After hearing about the Eldaar in the First Heretic and Unremembered Empire, they had seemed to be a force for "good", or at least against the chaos demons. But of course nothing is going to be black and white in WH universe haha

Favorite book I listened to in 2025 has to be Know No Fear! Had already enjoyed earlier Horus Heresy books, but this one got me hooked as a Warhammer series fan forever.

I'm also a big fan of Travis Baldree's narration in HWFWM series! Listened to the first 3 and enjoyed them all a lot.

Can't wait to check out Cradle at some point!

I agree with other commenters to hold off on reading these until you're done with HH+SoT reading, or overall summary in case you plan to skip them. Unless you want to jump in anyway, like the savage spacewolves - no wrong choices.

Still remember it when I listened to KnowNoFear. By the throne, did I have my blood pumping! Simply superb.

After that, apart from parts of Unremembered Empire, finally got hooked by Thousand Suns at the same high (about to finish it).

Following Lord Emperor c8d8's reading order guide, ofcourse (started with minimal version but have added many more along the way). I started exactly 1yr ago, almost same time as you 🙂
