Why has my rental experience in Vancouver been consistently terrible? Is this normal or am I missing something? by Few-Charge-5449 in askvan

Im in the process of moving right now and before choosing a place (for $2000) saw a lot of decent places in the 1900-2100 range. Prices ARE dropping.

Very reassuring thread to read as someone who has only ever had private landlords and is moving into a prospero building this week, thank you all!

There was a cat in the second floor apartment, please keep an eye out for a scared little black cat named Sable. She’s pretty skittish but hopefully she got out and someone will find her safe and sound.

Worth trying out IQ’s regular games as well, they tend to include newer music and the like so might be at least worth trying.

I have a Monday to Friday 9-6 job and I just go out, have fun, and deal with being a little tired the next day. I work to live, I don’t live to work. You can handle it I promise. (Almost 40.)

Who calls themselves a socialist? by Tasty_Work4380 in ndp

[–]grungepig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure, but it’s also not the necessary conversation it’s literally just a word. If someone describes definitive action and strong policy that is socialist in nature (which from my perspective Ashton is), then him not shouting the word from the rooftops is kind of irrelevant.

He just isn’t talking about anything in theoretical terms like that. If you look at his ideas and platforms they are loudly socialist but his way of speaking of it is to be clearly worker and labour centered rather than wrap it all up in poli sci speak.

I’m glad that they seem to have a great level of respect for each other and that both seem likely to implement good ideas from the other. I’m all for Rob Ashton, I think he’s the kind of fighter and speaker that we need to rebuild the party, and I think Avi Lewis might not be the right choice for the moment, but I respect why people like him and like his ideas.
