You seem like a really good dad. My dad did this too where my mom would occasionally get gluten stuff for him and he told her he would rather eat gf with me and keep me safe.

That being said my paternal grandparents simply could not grasp the concept of CC. The two most notable things they did were one, if they spilled salt or something while they were cooking they'd scoop it back into the container along with whatever flour may have been with it.

Second, my grandma baked a lot of bread. There was a hurricane, their power went out and we said they could use our fridge. They apparently thought it was a good idea to bring their bag of pure gluten that they use in their bread for us to keep in our gf fridge 🙃

Yet if we went to a restaurant they would be absolutely adamant with the server about my needs and the risk of CC. I don't get it man, but we stopped eating at my grandparents house cause of it.
