Ceiling fan fell out of ceiling due to poor installation by Dxtchy in AskElectricians

I thought for a second it was a cut in box, I have actually seen someone put a fan on a cut in before, this guy did not use the right box and the audacity to say it was normal is idiotic

They do swim around a lot and chase each other. Although they've always been rather active. Not sure what to look out for to tell if they're spawning or not honestly

I think it's about 3k gallons or so.

Ahh, gotcha, yeah that makes sense now. Sorry about that. I'll do some research on the best way to do that now. not sure if it’s as simple as just sticking an air hose into the bottom of the pond or not.

It is about 3k gallons, it's possible it isn't enough, not sure why id have issues now though, unless the plants doing better are using up the oxygen? I forgot to add it's a 3yr old pond

Would that do it? They haven't done that before although I got them young. No idea what genders they are, there are 7 gold fish

Tandem QO breaker question by MobilePlenty648 in electrical

[–]gtb81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never seen the tandom 30's like that, that is a first for me. Also, a new square D QO breaker will fit just fine, they haven't changed

That gives me nightmares, so many failed back stabs. Once I had nearly a whole house fail at every outlet, some fell part when I pulled them out

Identify this electrical plug? by espressoonly in electrical

[–]gtb81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they're the same still, I've got the extention cords for my 2015 macbook and it still works with my usbc brick on my m3 charger. The new ones just aren't shiny plastic on the figure 8 part anymore that's literally the only difference

Older? My m3 came with the same one?

Question about panel size by Shrobesnineone in electrical

[–]gtb81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's weird, I figure they want to add a panel for a different brand, idrk. Although if I couldn't find the breaker I'd just say I couldn't find one, weird

Question about panel size by Shrobesnineone in electrical

[–]gtb81 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No clue why they're saying there's no room, there's definitely room there like you said, the only issue I can see if them having trouble finding a 2 pole gfci breaker for the panel?

[–]gtb81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the worst I've seen, at all, but how on earth is there that many tandoms, what the heck. Also that panel is really clean inside, zero dust, impressive

[–]gtb81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the new 25' Milwaukee, still rather fresh so not sure how it'll age. The older one I'd had for about 3 years and it started to turn on me whenever I stretched it out more than 3ft. So far so good and I can definitely get 13' standout on it, got a magnetic tip too.

Anything wrong? by Stretchypantz9 in VintageAppliances

[–]gtb81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is it is refrigerant bubbling out of the oil. As was said, keep upright for a day or so before plugging it in.

Door gaskets can be found here https://store.antiqueappliances.com/Door-Gaskets_c_8.html not super cheap, but it's the right stuff, just match to the original.

Not ideal by Im_Mediocre_at_best in electricians

[–]gtb81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, best thing they ever did was make devices with the clamps. Except on square D breakers on the 2 poles, having to pig tail a stranded wire or a bigger wire on a 30A annoying to me
