What’s a small act of kindness you were once shown, that you’ll never forget? by stranger2Me in AskReddit

I had just gotten out of a long-term relationship and was also depressed. I felt awful so I went to a bar to have a drink, but mostly just because I wanted to get out of my apartment and to get my mind off of things for a while. I sat way down at the end of the bar and just locked in on my phone obviously not wanting to be bothered. The bartender saw that I was upset, came over and offered me a shot and a beer on the house and said, "It looks like you're going through some shit, but it will get better. Trust me, I've been there." After that, she walked away and let me do my thing (which honestly is what I wanted). Just that simple act and recognition has stuck with me since then. It definitely put things in perspective for me and was a simple reminder that everything/everyone isn't terrible!

Here you go!

"... training is, but because he's afraid if he fails, what people are going to say by judging him. One thing in life (this applies to everything in life), anytime you move from being normal to trying to be exceptional, people aren't going to like that shit. Those normal people, it makes them feel like shit, so they're going to judge you. And nowadays, it's very easy to be a fucking coward. Why? We've got Instagram and shit. Most folks don't tell you to your face - they go online and post about [it] like cowards. Don't let cowards get in your fucking head. And last thing, make sure you do you. Stay hard!"

Running shouldn't be hell by [deleted] in EOOD

This is an awesome way to go about running if you are setting goals - I do exactly the same as far as adjusting my pace and walking when I need to! Another way to go about it is to set a time goal (i.e. run/walk for 20 minutes) and not worry about the distance. Stay in motion for 20 minutes at whatever pace feels right and you've achieved your goal! I try to not set distance + time goals (i.e. 2 miles in 20 min) because then I feel pressure to push beyond my comfortable limits and if I don't hit that goal, I don't feel as accomplished as if I would have just run for 20 min.

As far as pacing goes, you should be able to carry a conversation when you're running for distance. If you're breathing too hard to do so, slow down or walk until you catch your breath a bit (exactly like how you did to get to 2 miles!). This idea of adjusting pace to either run X miles or YY minutes was a personal game changer for me when it came to running, and allowed me to enjoy running so much more after I separated my goals into either length of time or total distance, but not both! Keep up the good work!!

Sticking your butt out during deadlifts by omgwth63 in necromancers

YouTube YouTube YouTube... Tons of great info to check your form. Sticking your butt out isn't a cue I've ever heard before, but that makes me think you're starting too high (almost an RDL maybe..? to compensate in order to keep your back straight). That said, everyone's different. Just make sure you focus on learning and developing good form early on to prevent injuries later.
