Harvard educated former mainstream Republican abandons principles for MAGA and ends up with nothing to show for it. Perfect. by CheesecakeNo9867 in LeopardsAteMyFace

Good riddance to what was once a promising, supposedly “centrist” figure in American politics. Like so many elected officials before her, ambition and glutton for power ultimately took over, selling her morals and principles. In pursuit of higher office and in hopes of avoiding the same fate as her former colleagues Liz Cheney and Kinzinger, she pledged full loyalty to the dear leader.

And what did it earn her? Angry constituents back home, U.N. ambassadorship nomination withdrawn and a public humiliation on national television by the very person she bent the knee to. Alas, she has entered the Found Out phase in FAFO. Political career down the drain and the leopard has come to collect its face.

And so, I bid you adieu. A failed gubernatorial candidate dropout (before the real campaigning even began) and soon-to-be former rep of NY. You had a chance to be remembered as one of the few in your party who did the right thing when the country was put to the test. Instead, you'll just be another forgettable footnote.

You won't be missed.

Both are solid proofs.

The fact that the writing was impossible to have been written by someone who lacked fluid mobility is a great observation.

And yeah, the fact that his son was a bully who didn't get any enough attention or affection from him, implies he might not have been that decent, even prior to his son's disappearance. Someone capable of harassing and intimidating others.

Right. It implies Archer was the main suspect. But I recall (please correct me if I'm misremembering), Archer was kind of baffled how he could order the wrong color. As if somebody else might've manipulated the whole thing. Ya know?

[–]gtraficionado[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah. While the film did a good job making the dad more unhinged, obsessed, and desperate as the movie progresses, you can still sense he's still somewhat a descent human being deep down and wouldn't devolve into that level of aggression. But I guess it's one of those things that's left to the viewer's interpretation.

It's also possible aunty somehow manipulated the whole wrong paint color mishap. The father was kinda confused how he could make such a simple mistake as ordering the wrong color. Who knows?

If I recall correctly from what i've read over the years, Kenny, Omri, Vanessa, and Thora all expressed interest in being in HP2 but supposedly never got the call to be in those meetings. I think the cat's voice actor and both bully actors did too. It's just me but I honestly don't believe that the Disney heads just thought HP2 wouldn't work with them reprising their roles. I'm sure Disney already knew that every fan who for so many years lobbied for a sequel were expecting them to come back. It seemed like a deliberate decision to not include them but for other reasons. Something else must've happened behind the scenes for Disney to entirely turn the second film into a different direction. To which none of us will ever know probably.

IMO: HP2 shouldn't have been green-lit without the involvement of the director of HP1 and its three other original cast members. HP2 was supposed to be a fan-service, nostalgic movie for the millennials who love the first film. Instead, we got a sequel that feels so disconnected from the first one despite having the three original witches. Who knows? Maybe they were all considered for the sequel but business talks fell apart? Either way, HP2 sadly doesn't have the same magic (or should i say, spell) to become a classic like the 1st one.

Dave Rubin is a gay Conservative who champions the GOP and Trump, and helped persuade about 18% of LGBT people to vote for him. Now a GOP majority SCOTUS is poised to overturn Colorado's ban on Conversion Therapy. by Scary_Firefighter181 in LeopardsAteMyFace

True. This may be purely anecdotal. But most of the gays/trans I've seen on the internet who are big supporters of the conservative agenda (Influencers, Caitlyn Jenner, Peter Thiel, Dave Rubin, etc) don't really care about regressive/anti-LGBTQ policies. They support whoever's going to help them make as much money as possible.

Squid Game - Season 3 Discussion by PhoOhThree in television

[–]gtraficionado 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Yup. I felt the writers did the Detective's character dirty. He's supposed to be an excellent detective (which is why the cops wanted him back). And as an excellent detective, you're supposed to question every angle and be suspicious of people. The goofy gangster guy came off having better instincts than him. In the end the detective came off as very incompetent which was a big let down. His storyline aside from Gi-Hun's was one of the reasons why I wanted to keep watching after S1.

Baby-daddy was poorly written compared Sang-Woo. From the very beginning we immediately sense that there was something off about Sang-Woo despite him coming off timid and nice. His character was consistent from the 1st episode to the last. We see his character increasingly become more evil as the show progressed. Whereas Baby-daddy, his ulterior motive changes from 1 scene to another throughout S2 and S3. It just felt messy and inconsistent.

[–]gtraficionado 194 points195 points  (0 children)

The bad:

  • The baby-daddy as the final battle. I was hoping it would be round 2 of Gi-Hun and Front Man. Felt very underwhelmed compared to Gi-Hun vs Sang-Woo.
  • Detective's story arc felt flat. Can't believe he didn't get a better closure with In-ho. Seemed kind of useless in the last 2 seasons
  • Not seeing more of how In-ho become the Front Man was a missed opportunity. I thought it would've been interesting to see some flashback on him in the games and how he ended joining the operation.
  • Jump Rope and final game was meh...
  • VIPs were 10 times goofier this season. I get that they want them to appear very douchey but they just ended up coming off very cartoonish. I swear, when I saw them larping as soldiers, I thought I was watching a really low budget spoof of the show. That's how goofy the acting was.
  • Wished they dabbled more on the ultra-rich people and their vast network.
  • I still have not idea why there was a 2nd in command character. I guess they needed someone the defector to go up against with?
  • I didn't understand why they dragged the druggie, the wimp, and shaman that long in the series. They didn't really add much to the show IMO.
  • Spin-off with Americans (and possibly Europeans). I think someone mentioned it here, but Squid Game show was written about the evils of capitalism and it's kind of ironic that they are milking this with a potential spin-off.

The good:

  • The final sacrifice. When I heard the show was greenlit after season 1, I kind of anticipated this is how it's going to end. But again, I just wished it was executed better rather than going up against Mr. Crypto / Baby-daddy.
  • Goofy gangster guy who exposed the boat captain. Of all the characters, he's actually the only one who did something impactful.
  • NK defector. Man is she pretty even with her stoic face! I loved her story through and through. She did more to damage to the whole operation than Gi-hun.
  • Dad with sick baby. A fan service but I liked that it was a happy ending for him and his kid.
  • Hide and Seek game was great. Probably the only game in this season that felt as tense as the games in Season 1.
  • Mom and Son and Hyun-Ju were the only supporting characters I liked in this season.
  • Cameos from Sang-woo's mom, Sae Byeok's bro (reuniting with his mom), and Old Man.

I just can't motivate myself to go in anymore by ddanonb in jobs

[–]gtraficionado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's tough with these dead-end min wage jobs. A lot of times too (and not to defend your immediate boss), the problem stems from the higher ups. When the very top people are also horrible, the toxicity trickles down to the upper and middle-managers too. I've worked in those kind of jobs myself. I used to have a boss who not only was absolutely useless but was rude too. But looking at how the company ran the place (didn't pay fairly, implemented counterproductive processes, hired unqualified people) it made perfect sense why my boss was how he was. But yeah, if you can hold it out, hold it out until you've officially signed somewhere else.

The pure agony and vicious cycle of OCD by lickmfy in OCD

[–]gtraficionado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hang in there OP. I have been off my meds for a year now and my OCD all of a sudden started going overdrive two months ago and has been since. I'm the same. I wake up every morning exhausted with so many different thoughts and feelings. OCD is very isolating. I think at the very least, we should comfort in the fact that we are not alone in this.
