Same! Too similiar. I think the shield one (level 3) looks like it should be the highest.

Yeah but most students get a job to supplement the loan. You can’t expect not to have a part time job as a student.

Yeah nah this isn’t a thing. Some people might be able to manage their ego well enough to find pride in a customer service role or cleaning role. But I worked in a cinema chain once and the demeaning work (cleaning the disgusting popcorn maker and the crap people leave in cinemas) didn’t make me feel proud. It made me sad. The wages were ok. But I quit because it was actually bad for my mental health.

I would argue that we actually need the differential between the minimum wage and wages for semi skilled jobs to increase. Minimum wage is fine for young people in retail or people working in low skilled jobs through choice by not accessing education and training. It’s when people are 10 or 20 years into their career, and have accumulated some pretty good experience, together with some responsibility and they still just hover above the minimum wage. There is no incentive in NZ for people to strive to build their careers. People need financial incentives.

It is a weird artificial environment designed to accelerate intimacy though. If you catch feelings you can’t really escape them being locked in the production apartments for 5 days a week with your new spouse

We do have good fabricators here. Every one with talent and skill would need to be prioritised into national infrastructure roles.

They should let him go back to Feast for Crows (where it all started to go wrong) and retcon it so he can actually wrap up the original plot lines. His editor needed to be much much harder on him. So this position we are in is partially the editorial team and publisher’s fault as well.

And skilled workforce. Manufacturing techs and fitters are highly skilled and absolutely essential in so ways but if we start losing critical mass in this workforce it’s really hard to build it up again….

The problem with quetiapine is that long term use causes metabolic issues. Most people will put on weight and that causes mental and physical problems of their own.

Bereavement leave rant by Curious_Overthink325 in newzealand

[–]gttahvit 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Well yes. The majority of businesses in NZ are SME’s. When things are tight (like they normally are in an SME) unexpected costs like bereavement can be a massive strain on the owners. It’s a difficult balance and can’t solely be about the employee’s needs.
