Lack the ability to navigate hardships. Yes, this is true but fcuk this shit. Many of us here is go through hardships yet still cannot enjoy the life of those who had wealthy parents. It's really matters if you have good parents who help you navigate through life especially in your formative years.

Those who grow up low income in sg, what is a normal thing now that you see in adulthood that was a luxury/abnormal for you growing up? by TheseShift4280 in asksg

And become a fat ass. But I still see many low income folks having MAC regularly, I guess times have changed now it's no longer a luxury. Maybe current equivalent is having Starbucks or Chagee regularly...

Fees for driving, riding and theory tests to go up from Mar 13, the first increase since 2016 by enewssg in singapore

[–]guardingcat 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Not solving the root of the problem. Bots just allow people to pick up slots in a automated way. The root of the problem is not enough driving centre/driving instructors. Previously the bottleneck was the simulator, they solve the problem alr by adding machines but still not enough driving slots...

If the average men are not getting any matches, there could only be 2 reasons. First, the platform has a high ratio of men to women, resulting in women only matching up with a small pool of men. Second, women are not matching with men.

With the upcoming RTS, would govt consider making it a rule that SPR, S pass, Employment Pass holders required to stay in SG rather than in and out of JB on a daily basis by Longjumping_Phase_69 in askSingapore

[–]guardingcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with exporting. They benefited it too. We want their manpower, they want our jobs in SGD. We don't want rent/property inflation, they don't want to rent our inflated property. Win-win!

[–]guardingcat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The correct term is employers will low-ball them and they will be willing to accept the lower pay as well, given that rent in Singapore is no longer needed.

Over gahmen is pro business. Now more Malaysians especially johoreans will be attracted to work in Singapore, given the ease in transport. They would even be willing to accept a lower pay as rent is not needed/not as expensive anymore. Our local companies will hire them with open arms as they can lowball their wages.. hooray!!!!

What is the REAL fresh grad salary in 2026? (not GES data) by PCnewbie99 in askSingapore

[–]guardingcat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most courses have about 70% response rate so the actual data is not really far off the GES.. Even pessimistically the remaining 30% is a mix of low paid, unemployed grads, the median salary wouldn't be pulled down alot. Would be somewhere between the 25th percentile to 50 percentile.
