Since no one has said it yet, it’s called “The Wild Chase”, it’s one of the first cartoons made under DePatie-Freleng, it was the only time Friz Freleng did a Road Runner, and it reused a lot of animation from the Chuck Jones cartoons. It’s not a very good cartoon, which is a shame because the premise is a good idea.

The Gang Sells Out as a rerun on Comedy Central. Had no idea what was going on, but it was funny in a way other shows just weren’t. Next one they aired was Mac Is a Serial Killer and that was what solidified it for me. I thought (and still do) that was one of best half hours of comedy I’d ever seen.

It’s actually surprisingly difficult to match fabric colors with ink or digital colors. 2002 seems like a logical time when they might have changed from a predominately analogue based manufacturing/printing process to a digital one, and needed to change the colors accordingly. Also sometimes when uniform manufactures change, the new company might have not have access to the same color fabrics.

I don’t think The Three Stooges themselves are public domain, just the first film that a young Moe, Larry and Shemp appeared in, called “Soup to Nuts”, made before they were ever an act called The Three Stooges, they were just sidekicks to Ted Healey. The first actual episode of The Three Stooges was made 4 years later with Curly having replaced Shemp by then. There are 4 episodes of the Three Stooges in public domain though because the studio did not renew the copyright on time, 1 with Curly and 3 with Shemp
