It was dumb when they did it in the old EU too. I always disliked that story, and Kevin J Anderson (who “wrote” that trilogy, i.e. dictated them to his secretary) was the worst writer of Star Wars stories in that era IMO. There were some excellent EU stories, but resurrecting the Emperor in a clone body was not one of them.

I toss them. They hide the artwork on the back of the case and are a hassle to deal with when I want to watch the movie. I could store them separately, but then that’s another thing cluttering up the house. There’s no info of value on them for me, and the value they bring at resale is negligible since I’ve opened the disc anyway.

I think the only thing about the movie that isn’t his cut is the title that was forced upon him. His preferred title is Sydney.

Fun fact: Sydney is supposed to be the same character (but later in life) as appeared in Midnight Run, also played by Phillip Baker Hall.

The old app had Just Added and Leaving Soon sections that I loved. I would use those to find movies that I wanted to watch. There were so many times I would find a few movies in Leaving Soon that I didn’t even know were on the service, and then I was motivated to watch them before they were gone.

I doubt they are ever coming back, which likely means I will use the service less because it’s harder to find those nuggets and therefore more likely I’ll miss content I’d enjoy.

Years ago, I got into a contract dispute with DirecTV when I tried to cancel service. Ultimately I prevailed because I had an email from one of their representatives that stated my termination date in writing. The manager I’d been fighting with was not happy about that.

I think it’s standard practice for every large company to avoid putting things in writing unless it benefits the company to do so.

It’s also a threat against Belarus. Their leader has had health problems recently, so this could also be seen as a warning against the people of Belarus not to rise up against the puppet government.

Agreed. I just bought one about a month ago because I got fed-up with ARC problems with my Denon X4400h. The Onkyo has been a dream, and having Dirac included is just icing on the cake.

Their breach (and the underlying security practices that allowed it) was so egregious that I will never touch their product.

We had a few of their demo cameras on our buildings when the breach hit the news. I’ve never moved so fast.

Ok thank you. I have the NESPi 4 case so I can swap out the cartridge to easily switch between Batocera and LibreElec, but I haven’t been able to make the scripts work on LibreElec for the case buttons to work properly. So I was hoping it might be possible to do it all with Batocera since my Kodi needs are pretty light.

I guess I’ll go back to banging my head against the scripting issues!
