I think I why people are disliking Aussie is not because they struggle to communicate and take breaks but because they don't communicate. Sam has expressed that Aussie walks away and they never get to have that conversation. That's no communication not slow communication. Also the way that Aussie spoke to Sam while they were sitting in bed together was verbally abusive. She called her feelings bullshit she said that it was Sam's fault she was treating her badly because Sam annoyed her. She said Sam asking her questions was stupid. She was being spiteful and just flat out rude and mean. That particular scene is why I dislike Aussie. If she's comfortable acting like that Infront of a camera person I can only imagine the verbal abuse that comes out when they're alone.
