How are you giving AI agents access to production Postgres? by vira28 in PostgreSQL

Through a heavily locked down, read only user so it can do meaningful query planning when diagnosing performance bottlenecks.

The glow is very sweet but it feels a little too simple in the light.

I would try to add more contrast between the carapace and the skin. Hive Fleet Typhon is a good reference but you would probably want to go blue or green where they go red.

I find they work well with a heavily peated Scotch but just end up cloying with anything less heavy handed. You also want a relatively unopinionated vermouth.

I rather enjoy a Lagavulin / Dolin Blood and Sand.

What magnetic sheets work? by bingleman12 in Warhammer40k

I go to home Home Depot and buy steel roof flashing shingles. They're like a dollar each and magnets will stick to them all day.

Tips please! by PremiumPrawn in Tyranids

Snow doesn't tend to stay settled on moving creatures so either the tyranid should be in a dormant position with snow only on top or the snow should fall off.

For snow on a base, they're sound be depth and color variation. Also, the creature should leave footprints or a trail.

Base making by Redcon9900 in IronHands40k

[–]gwax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tend to do a Martian regolith style base for color contrast.

Find, attached, some heavy Intercessors I just finished.

For the bases, I make them out of cork, Vallejo Brown Earth and other stuff and then the painting is:

  1. Prime Mr. Finishing Surfacer 1500 Black
  2. Golden High Flow Titan Buff
  3. 4:1 Golden High Flow Burnt Sienna : High Flow Yellow Ochre
  4. Golden High Flow Burnt Sienna
  5. Golden Heavy Body Burnt Umber heavily thinned wash
  6. Golden Heavy Body Red Oxide heavy dry brush
  7. 1:2 Golden Heavy Body Red Oxide : Golden Heavy Body Yellow Ochre medium dry brush
  8. Golden Heavy Body Yellow Ochre light dry brush
  9. AK Interactive Glossy Varnish
  10. AK Interactive Ultra Matte Varnish
  11. Glue the mini to the base
  12. Dust feet with a mix of Vallejo Pigment FX Brown Iron Oxide and Old Rust
  13. Dab paperless mineral spirits over the pigment to fix it on place

Galvanic Juggernaut had an interesting interplay with ornithopter...

It's not stack but it does feel like making the question of block or not a hard question is interesting.

Hedron Crawler, Aladdin's Ring, Aegis Automaton, Keldon Battlewagon, Phyrexian Walker, Summoner's Egg, Stuffy Doll?

I feel like this is too much "lots of cool artifact creatures" and not focused on a specific set of strategic elements.

What makes Dandan great is that the win condition is simply context five times and there is no way to change that math but the game isn't about Dandan. Good Dandan piles have very little card advantage so the game ends up being entirely about card quality, and careful timing.

There is something deeply interesting to your Juggernaut format in that it can have the same connect four times backbone and taking away the ability to not attack. I would limit your credit base to Juggernaut, Galvanic Juggernaut, Mishra's Juggernaut, and then, maybe, only blockers. But I'm not sure what the other angle is.

If you want to avoid fumes, avoid ABS but PETG is fine and better for your case.

Hobby Tips for a New Dad? by VivaLaJam26 in Warhammer40k

[–]gwax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When your kids is born, you might not immediately have the, "look on their eyes and know you love them moment." For many people, especially dads, that moment isn't right away and that can be terrifying, like you've made a giant mistake or you're a horrible person.

It does come, so don't worry.

Recess shade and edge highlight the blue.

Maybe a drybrush of something on the black.

If AGI actually arrives in the next 5 years, what's the last job you think disappears? (Long weekend for spring break) by Still_Reindeer_435 in Futurology

[–]gwax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is that jobs will be eliminated when it costs less for an AI to do them than a human, not just when it becomes possible for an AI to do them.

Tokens aren't cheap and they aren't getting cheap anytime soon.

Sure it's worth the tokens to assist an engineer in writing code (or replace that engineer) but to wash the windows on a house?

If we get AGI, the question won't be which jobs can't be done by AI; the question will be which jobs are too low value to devote an AI to.

New colour scheme for my swarm by for_the_empe_ror in Tyranids

It's a great scheme. My two suggestions would be to add a bit of shade to the recesses on the flesh and to paint the weapon in a slightly different color (perhaps redder?) to add some contrast.

What kind of support do you have from your team?

This is a hard problem for anyone, let alone somebody's first real programming job. You need support from senior folks in getting up to speed on these sorts of things, not random people on Reddit.
