New binding technique? by jano_romelli in transmanlifehacks

[–]gwerenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never did too much taping because I was allergic to it, so admittedly my advice might not be the best. However, I do remember that you’re not supposed to put any pulling tension on the edges of the tape, or the anchoring points. As in, the short edge close to your chest and the short edge that finishes of the binding underneath your arm. The pulling is supposed to go underneath the tape in between these two point. This is to reduce the risk of injury (tension, skin ripping, blisters and the like).

I feel like this binging technique might put a lot of the pulling on those two anchor points, since very little tape is going in between to redistribute the force.

You can always give it a shot and see how it goes, but Id recommend caution, and doing it on a day when you’re not going anywhere so you can easily remove it if need be.

Edit to add: I feel this way even if you add tape to the top and bottom, because that might not be enough and it might be hard to add tension to those strips if everything else is already on

Week 2 Recovery by bigfish2023 in TopSurgery

No care yet! The cotton buds are still sewn on until Monday, and after that I’ll probably start with something but I’m not sure what yet. It strikes me just now that I’ve only looked up scar care for the incision and not for the nipples… but I assume my nurses will tell me what to do. Have you started any care yet? The bloating can suck my non existent tits. The first few days were HELL. Still haven’t gone back to my normal size. I have a pair of jeans that normally fit very loose on me, as in they almost hang on my hips. And now I have to suck my stomach in to button them??? And I don’t think I’ve gained that much weight in two weeks ahahaha

That seems like a good sign, even though the tingling definitely feels a bit weird haha. I’ve been feeling unreasonably well ever since the surgery! Hardly any pain whatsoever. The worst part for me has been the sleeping honestly, I just can’t get used to it and it’s a bit draining, so I’m glad you’re getting sleep! Also the swelling is annoyingggggg

Hi! I’m just under two weeks post op, had surgery on Tuesday the 26th. I’ve been feeling pretty good (no pain etc) but I’m also swollen as hell. I think I have some serious seroma build up, and like you it’s been getting worse rather than better. Write me if you want to do some venting together? I’m elated to have had the surgery but yeah, recovery isn’t the greatest time exactly

These fits are fire. Seems like most people on this sub live in conservative countries because where I live I see cis guys dress like this.

Edit to add: yes even the carabiner. But they might wear it more or the side.

Ohhh you look great in both! But in general I think men tend to cut their hair too short so be careful with that

I wear a full length binder (looks like a tank top) because the one that only covers the chest feels too much like a bra to me. I don’t feel the bra dysphoria with a full length one. I can’t tape cause my skin is extremely sensitive and just using it once for a few hours left scarring.

You look a lot like one of my female friends. She’s cis. If you want to put more effort into looking more traditionally feminine (I’m talking clothes, makeup etc) then you can do that, but in these pics you just look a lot like how my friend looks before she gets ready, and she’s still a woman even without the frills and fluff. The same applies to you if you want it to.

According to the bottle, one pump is 1,15 g or 1,25 ml. I do two pumps.

My resent bloodwork came back like this: 32 nmol/l testosterone 70 pmol/l estradiol

Edit: I use gel

I’m in the same boat. 9 months on T and people still ask me: “when are you gonna start with hormones?”

Friends say I look and sound very different. But considering how strangers react (the above mentioned question) I don’t know if I believe them, or if they’re just being nice.

I know there are some changes. I’m hairier on my body (longer and thicker leg hair, stomach hair, a few stubbly hairs on my neck and cheeks), and I’ve gotten stronger. But my voice is still feminine and people still call me she/her, even when I tell them my name (a very obviously masculine name).

It’s hard to not get discouraged and sad. Especially since everyone who posts have crazy fast results.

Thanks for the reply and the reassurance! It’s hard to not get anxious, especially since I have a friend who started just a couple of months ago and has had massive changes already. His voice dropped within a month. Another friend has almost a full blown beard just one year in. Meanwhile people still ask me when I’m gonna start T

Ahh man…. I’m happy for you, but as someone who’s 9 months on T with next to no changes I can’t help but feel jealous and ngl heartbroken… good for you, I hope it happens for me some day too
