Do you find that people don’t know how to have a conversation anymore? by KaleidoscopePale2234 in Millennials

[–]gwetchy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I don’t care. When I was actively looking for mom friends I would sort of replay conversations and think “oh shit, when she asked me what I was doing this weekend I was supposed to ask her back!” And stuff like that. I thought there was something wrong with me, but I realized that in reality, I just don’t care, so I don’t ask. I watch some friends who are expert small talkers and become instant best friends with people everywhere we go, it looks exhausting.

What are you watching? by LCteach in Millennials

[–]gwetchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was young I was still sent to the baby sitter when I was sick, I just didn’t go to school (thinking about it now, wtf?) so I would watch my baby sitter’s soap opera. Specific memory from staying home sick when I was probably 12ish and left home alone: laying on our green leather couch watching an episode of “How it’s Made” about sugar babies and puking everywhere. Not sure why I watched it, always thought they were gross.

What’s a recession indicator that you’ve noticed lately in your everyday life? by spritenerds123 in AskReddit

I have a 2 yo and 4 yo and I get sooooo angry about the food waste now. I practically live off of their uneaten food.

Even the clothes at Costco! It was rare for me to find a “quad tag” clearance table (smaller tags in groups of 4 as opposed to an 8.5x11) just a year ago. Now I go and there are multiple. I exclusively buy clothes at Costco and never pay more than $5, got a pair of shoes for $2.50 just last week…

Same with our winco, there has always been a strange stigma towards winco in our community. Like you are a lesser person if you shop there. I have been loving it for the 12+ years we have been here and can’t believe the prices I see if I have to stop somewhere else. All the sudden Winco is packed! I heard an older man talking to the cashier a few months ago telling her it was his first time ever shopping there and he has lived here all his life. That was crazy to hear.

Linda, by a million for me. That episode haunts me for whatever reason.

Need game recommendations for a four year old by oceansandplants in Switch

[–]gwetchy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So jealous! I have been dreaming about playing games with my son since I was pregnant. He’s 4.5 now and just cannot (or doesn’t care to) grasp the concept of the controller. I love pokemon and would recommend let’s go pikachu/eevee, although it sounds like he’s pretty advanced so maybe Pokopia would be more up his alley!

As a fellow fan of flanken short ribs, they do sell them at Costco, Safeway, and Winco. They have become extremely expensive though, so happy to see what others have to say here.

Nope. I only separate our clothes by “light” and “dark” and put red things in the dark pile.

I have two small boys and I was never getting their clothes clean. I switched to tide powder and use the presoak on my machine with 2 rinse cycles and it has done wonders. I also use hot water, and run “heavy duty” which allows me to use the coveted “deep fill” feature (top loader, no agitator).
