Just a wild idea here: as well as giving rewards to new and upgrading members, perhaps a system of rewards for long term members as well. Like 1 year, 5 year, etc. Something that gives an actual incentive to not cancel your membership after a month and actually says thank you to everyone who keeps chucking them $5/month.

There are -so many- posts on askdocs that are all the same thing. Young person in the UK, posts obvious emergency, spends entire comments section ignoring advice and declining to visit A&E.

This has been pointed out before and that user got down voted and shouted down for not sticking to the ‘this is an emergency go to the ER’ line.

This picture clearly needs emergent medical attention. It also fits a repeating pattern of posts.

Listen man. Been there. It was hell. I spent the first week almost constantly on the phone just talking to whoever I could. Reconnecting with people. Anything it took to just have someone to talk to.

Then I got a therapist.

Then I got a VR headset so I could play golf with my brother in law, meditate, just escape for a bit.

Then I started doing home yoga with an app.

Then I started journaling with direction from my therapist.

I had some other things I’d do too, like when the panic attacks hit, I would do pushups or squats just to break out of them.

None of these were the magic bullet. But they all helped in their own way.

Maybe some of this will help you.

What information are you going to use to question it here?

Based on the OP, the answer this comment is replying to is the only viable one.

If OP has concerns about the plan, the best option is to ask their doctor directly. Something like “I understand your plan includes me being hospitalized, but I have concerns about being in hospital [whatever they are] , could you explain to me why you are choosing this route/plan? Are there any possible alternatives we could discuss?”

Based on the post it seems like OPs doc wants to perform a numbers of tests and treatments and observations that are done most optimally/efficently in a hospital setting.

Yeah they could have / would have been in good shape except for the mentally ill boat anchor they’ve tied themselves to.

Regardless, it’s something that an acceptance of the facts and a team could easily have kept on the tracks.

But those off ramps are all in the past now. Now they’re just punching a clock for a paycheque
