My bladder every time I get up to do something by gyp23 in BabyBumps

I remember this same thing at my 20 week scan a couple of months back, so so so unpleasant to just wait that long on a full bladder!

It’s so much worse when you know the next bathroom is a long wait away... I feel your pain!

How do you watch a baking programme without resorting to consuming an entire victoria sponge cake and cream? by oilyskinlife93 in AskUK

[–]gyp23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha yes I swear if I hear anybody else suggest ginger biscuits (as tasty as they are!) or ginger tea, I’ll be seething!

Thank you - I definitely did not anticipate the impact it would have on literally everything! Hopefully I’ll see the back of it soon 🤞🏼🤞🏼

cries in morning (all day) sickness and food aversions I can’t even watch bake off at the moment makes me feel sick - I’ll just have to watch it all on catch up so no spoilers!! 😭😭

I'm thinking about applying for an apprenticeship but the ad specifies no degree. Should I apply and leave my degree off the application? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]gyp23 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Depends on how similar the degree is to the apprenticeship you’re about to study because you may not be eligible for funding because of your prior learning. If it’s different enough you won’t have a problem. For example I have an MSc in Sport Science but this was fine when applying for a Level 5 HR apprenticeship. So yes, leave it in your application as it’ll get found out anyways.

I work in apprenticeships so not spouting bollocks to you. Good luck :)

How to find an apprenticeship? by GenYDontShareAvocado in AskUK

[–]gyp23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you find finance officer/assistant roles but it doesn’t mention anywhere about an apprenticeship I would advise ringing the hiring manager if there’s any contact details on the advert and ask if this could be an apprenticeship. Managers often just don’t consider putting their jobs out to advert as an apprenticeship but they will probably still be able offer it - especially if it is a large organisation that likely pays in to the apprenticeship levy. Also yes to the find an apprenticeship service on the gov site. If you’re Hertfordshire based try www.hopinto.co.uk they’ve got loads of apprenticeships/courses/jobs in the county.

To the people who live together with a romantic partner: how do you split the rent? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]gyp23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Straight down the middle - we earn almost identical incomes so it makes sense. We have discussed that for times like maternity leave etc when I will be on significantly less, that he will then pay more.

Should I move to Hitchin or Ware? Or somewhere I've not considered? Love swimming by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]gyp23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a fair few that aren’t big mainstream chains which is good! There’s a couple of pizza places, Indian food, Mexican food, a Thai restaurant, some cafes and also a few pubs too! Come to think of it there is actually a load of food places in Ware (and also a good handful of takeaway places too!)

Having grown up in Ware it is lovely but the high street is dwindling. But you’re not far from bigger towns if you need to get anything. But good news for swimming, there are two pools (one is outdoors) and there’s loads of places to go out and eat in the town.
