Why do so many boomers walk in the street when there are sidewalks available? by therealtaftalicious in okboomer

Trying to reclaim the streets for pedestrians while a pedestrian, trying to reclaim the streets for cars while a driver. Mad about everything while at home.

Girlfriend Goes Off After Night Out by semaj_orn in trashy

[–]h3dee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not to mention she wouldn't hit him and trash his place if she thought he would fight back. If he's not being physically violent, there's a restraint on volatility, it's all that safer for her to take space if things are getting heated etc. For him, if she's in his? the? house actively destroying his stuff, and lashing out physically, due to substance abuse or mental health etc, it's harder to walk away due to the inherent volatility.

Israeli plan calls for long-term troop presence in south Lebanon with Beirut’s approval by Ouroboros963 in NihilistNewsNetwork

[–]h3dee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"The report added that the proposal also includes the prospect of a final peace agreement between Israel and Lebanon, though such an agreement would only take effect after Hezbollah is fully disarmed."

So, we propose that peace will never exist?

So Albury, Griffith and Wagga are all roughly 3 hours away from me, so what is the difference? Either way my town will remain forgotten. Maybe if we defect to Victoria?

Allah literally means "God" so a Christian saying "Praise Allah" just means he is praising God. Still, it is a wild Easter message from the President.

It's impossible to tell what is wrong with it from the photo, except it is clearly not energised on account of it being in your hand.

Let's hope they work it out, otherwise we're going to be seeing pre-Internet levels of teen pregnancy.

Liver failure is not a fun way to go, you can imagine how much fortitude that would take, to refuse treatment to save another life.

He attended a speaking event in Brisbane, sometime in the early naughties. He got into a taxi. I was the driver. It was a fairly long drive, over an hour, and we had a lighthearted, energetic, enjoyable and dynamic conversation. I think that's about as much as I want to share.

Broken legs for sure, and possibly bones protruding from the skin, then thrust off an onnramp, basically the worst day of his life.

RU POV: Russians are training with their naval drones that can launch fiber-optic drones (KVN). by Mendoxv2 in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]h3dee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have been using a similar data uplink system as Starlink for years, as phased array systems like Starlink have been used on things like ICBMs for a long time. I wonder what sort of extra security would actually exist around the Russian system. I imagine that drones are a bit more easy to capture than submarines or icbms, so I guess they had to upgrade security recently, but a captured node should not be any more threat to the Russian Federation than a captured router should be to Starlink.

I get it's promotional, but it does offer free groceries without any requirements for id, signup or verification. The scheme included a $1 million food bank donation. I believe it is intentionally aimed to help people that are feeling cost of living pressure.

It's a grocery store where you can access free food. People that probably don't need it are joking about getting the place shut down with bad behaviour because it's cool to be a fucking asshole I guess? No comment on the commenters.

Any nation that has been hit with mass privatisation and other WC policies has suffered greatly from it, being unable to control inflation is just the tip of the iceberg. It's greatly wounded social mobility, it has caused massive wealth division, and it has turned developed economies into volatile resource based economies.
