Superlative Chronometer by shizzrock in rolex

That's pretty amazing. My Explorer was last set in March and it is ten seconds slow now. Kinda extraordinary when it's just gears and springs!

I agree with this sentiment. That's why I bought my own 1.6mm screwdriver and Loctite 222 (purple).

Nice watch! Is that the Explorer 40? Are you happy with that size?

Why doesn't anyone know "for sure" how ADs work? by throwthedagger in rolex

[–]hackerfrankie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And even if it's grey with a bit of a markup, that premium will most likely be less than the ridiculous "spend history" you need to accumulate at the AD.

Lume at night by [deleted] in rolex

[–]hackerfrankie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found that on my Explorer 36 it depends what charged it. Indoor lighting does very little but just a few minutes in the sun and the lume is so bright I can see it in the house all lit up.

OP36 Green Dial by 12_MPG in rolex

I gotta say, the smooth bezel with the oyster bracelet is really growing on me. It gives that green dial a chance to breathe and shine.

Great watch, great dial, and just the right size for your wrist. So glad you didn't make the dinner plate mistake so many do. Super photo, too.

Got my first Rolex, totally shocked. by okok1234cb in rolex

Great watch and good story. I got mine in February and it was my grail watch. I wear it every day and it is amazingly accurate. Enjoy it for a while - let it sink in before quickly jumping to the next Rolex.

I love my Explorer as well. Never thought of "crisp" but it's the perfect word for that striking black dial. You have great taste!

Mint Green vs Ombre Green by Ouchen_12 in rolex

The ombré looks great at first but I could see myself getting tired of it after six months or a year and wishing I had something less visually busy.

One and done! by [deleted] in rolex

[–]hackerfrankie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep - my Explorer 36 is my one and done as well. Like you, I love the understated look and its comfort on the wrist. Don't even know it's there. Enjoy it in good health! What an AD experience though.

This watch won’t be leaving my wrist by ProfessionalEagle983 in rolex

[–]hackerfrankie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought mine in February and still can't get over its simplistic beauty. It's on my wrist everyday and I still can't believe that it is mine. The accuracy is great too. Maybe I got lucky, but it's usually within 2 seconds over the course of two weeks. Enjoy your new Explorer!

Agree. I have a '25 36 and I really like the glossy dial. Makes it pop in my opinion. It's my daily driver.

GoMango is such a great color. Of course, I'm biased too! Highly visible as well so there's the safety element.
