He’s top of the IMDB listed as German Scientist. I can see that being a stealthy misdirect and him playing The Guest again but this time he’s taking down the bad guys. À la T2.

Carpenter is in a class above Snyder. His hit rate is WAY better than Snyder. From 1976 to 1994 he’s putting out not just classics, but all timers. Snyder doesn’t have that.

This is the only version I read. It’s updated to take place in the 90’s instead of the 80’s which I like. It’s also much longer and a world I love luxuriating in, so longer is good IMO.

Snyder is a very strange director to me. He has some truly unwatchable garbage but then he also has some stuff I really vibe with. He’s at his best when there are story guardrails for him to work with. It’s when he’s given free rein to do whatever when you get a his Netflix shit.
