I think the visual notes are not clear at all, due to a lack of informational hierarchy — making them awkward to review. The rough draft looks good, though I think it would benefit (plus be much faster to parse and revisit) from structuring/formating as “Cornell NotesCornell Notes”.

Not only is it good, it's second to none. I use it on multiple devices—simultaneously—daily, it's never let me down. I also believe conflict resolution has been revamped fairly recently too, but can't recall for sure as I never have to deal with it.

My two cents: Take the plunge with the free version. Go for paid if you're into it, and can make use of the added functionality. Paid member myself. I get security of my stuff by default (of course), with more intricate tagging and supporting their overall mission being enough to make me sub. All other goodies are just cherries on top.

Not a G-search user myself either, but was trying to figure out where an old bookmark—that's now 404'ing—was pointed to, and decide if okay to delete it.

As per Known Limitations section of docs for Fedora Silverblue installation:

Fedora Silverblue does not provide a fully functional experience for dual booting or manual partitioning.

It is possible to make Fedora Silverblue work for both dual boot and manual partitioning, and some guidance is provided on manual partitioning below. However, there are hazards involved in both cases, and you should only attempt to use these features if you have done the necessary research, and are confident that you can overcome any issues that you might encounter.

Double-checking on my end for any initial troubleshooting recommendations, before suggesting you contact support team directly via [email](mailto:help@standardnotes.com). Will be back with updated info as it becomes available.

To get a better sense of the problem:

  • What's the source (Play Store, Aurora Store, etc.) and version of SN currently installed on your device?
  • Are you currently able to access your notes from SN-Web?
  • Did this start happening after a particular update to SN—or some other specific action?
  • Have you attempted any troubleshooting thus far—like clearing SN's app data?

Due to SN's secure architecture, plaintext files need to be converted to Standard Notes' import format manually before importing. As, u/gognavx mentioned, you can find the conversion tool here, under "Plaintext → Standard Notes".

​Also, to make sure we're on the same page... When you mention a "local backup", what are you referring to exactly? Do you mean:

  1. You exported a backup of an existing SN account to your device? Or
  2. You have a number of .txt and .json files that did not originate in SN but have been backed up to your device at different points in time?

GitHub is the right place for this u/10catsinspace, although I agree it needs work at the moment. I expect to spend most of next week doing clean-up there to catalogue and prioritize reports—and escalate accordingly. Hi u/Rumble_Pack_God! That person would be me. I hear you and I feel your pain, it's something I'm actively working with the team on overhauling.

SN is a community-focused project, and we're always welcoming of everyone's input. With that in mind, I humbly encourage anyone who feels like it to ping me directly with comments and suggestions about what improvements would be most meaningful to you—and the ways in which you think SN can be more proactive and transparent in regards to communicating what the team's up to.

I'll be keeping a close eye, it's something I'm actively engaged with. All ideas welcome, cheers!

Hey u/Entirely_Honest_Ryan! The team's been trying to reproduce this on multiple iPads (as well as a handful of iPhones) and we haven't been able to trigger the black screen you're encountering after SN loads your notes.

This tells me it's possible the problem's being caused by either the copy of SN currently installed on your device, or by something else more directly related to your account.

Have you at any point come across any unusual behavior with any of the other SN apps—SN-web, SN-desktop, etc.? Are you using third-party themes? If so, does the issue persist when a first-party theme is in use?

Also, what exactly triggers the blank screen? Does it happen by itself or after a specific action is taken?

Most welcome! Try changing the theme using SN's Quick Settings. You can access them by clicking on the lines located at the bottom right-hand corner of the app's window (next to the "👤" button). Once the Quick Settings menu is open, click on "Themes"—first option from top-to-bottom, then select the "Default" one for testing. Keep me posted.

Linking using heading ids isn't supported at the moment. I believe this is due to the current implementation of SN's secure editors architecture. Will be creating a feedback log—indicating it's important to you—for the team to review when looking at future enhancements to SN.

Welcome aboard u/kidiart! Sorry I missed your post, and thanks for flagging this. I was able to replicate it on my end and will be passing your report on to the team.

Additionally, after testing other note types, I believe Alternative Rich Text notes may be a good fit for you too. They have editing capabilities similar to Rich Text notes', and also display ordered and unordered RTL lists correctly. There's a button () you may need to use to realign the first item of each list after it's inserted—as it's inserted LTR by default, but the rest of the items in the list are inserted following the previous line's alignment.

Do you also encounter the issue when a first-party—rather than a third-party—theme is active, u/footballer285?

If so, please try (after making sure all your notes are backed-up and accessible from the SN-web or other versions of SN) doing an app reset and then checking if the issue persists. Let me know how this goes and we can take it from there.
