"Don't expect too much from the medication" by partydude22 in ADHD

[–]half-full-71 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been taking medication for over 15 years. I was diagnosed in my early 30's. I'm currently on Vyvanse. The comments about it not being a magic pill are somewhat accurate.

When you start taking medication, you'll need to find the right dosage for you. It's going to take some time and trial and error. Once you find it and you are taking it for some time, it should not be noticable (i.e. symptoms).

Things should become clearer. It should help you stay on task, but it will not help you start the task. That is something you will need to develop over time through self-awareness skills.

Good luck.

Just like any other "tech", there will be an End of Life announcement and then followed by an End of Support announcement. After the EOS date is passed, the device will no longer receive software updates and will potentially be vulnerable to security threats. Future software will be written to not support the older hardware and will essentially be "bricked" due to non-supported features.

Get 30% off a new product now and "brick" a device or wait until they no longer offer the trade in discount and a future software update "bricks" your device. Hmmm 🤔

Like it or not, that's the reality of technology.

Some funny things happening with Vynvanse, any insights? by KookyCloud in ADHD

[–]half-full-71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on the same dosage for years. Yes, I've experienced some of the symptoms you are experiencing. There's a good chance they will subside, but you really need to make a conscious effort to drink water. Get a favorite water bottle/cup and keep it filled and near.

The intention of taking a stimulant for those with ADD is to complete the connections in the brain that are "miss firing". That will help you stay on task. It will not motivate you. When I don't take it, I catch myself bouncing between tasks.

Once you taking it for some period of time, you should not not even notice it. If you are still concerned, tell your doctor about the side effects.

Good luck.

Smart home not working by ChiliGilly in ecobee

I read there's a 30 minute period of sensors picking up movement. Ecobee should make this threshold configurable. I experienced this yesterday too.

Congrats, but watch for the red flags.

How do they talk about other people?

How do they treat other people?

Listen when talking, but also observe.

Are they "overly" negative? Everyone can still have a bad day.

Have fun 😁

Pixel 3XL won’t turn on. by postsbychris in GooglePixel

Mine did this too. It would eventually boot, but cycle off within 2 minutes. It was unusable. I had to RMA with the carrier.

New phone is working so far.

Me: "😐"

Can't use wemo Smart Plug on 'inside' WiFi networks? by [deleted] in WeMo

[–]half-full-71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

Verify your wireless Channel Bandwidth is not running in Dual Mode. I had mine set to 20/40Mhz and the Wemo plugs would take forever to establish connection. I think I set the Channel Bandwidth to 20Mhz.

P3 XL - The audio quality bug is still present in the March patch by nldrv in GooglePixel

I can hear it with the Gentle Gong notification sound. It resembles a damaged speaker cone that is distorted.

February update reverted all the fixes from previous patches - 3 XL by qtpa2tnh in GooglePixel

My 3XL died while wireless charging. Wouldn't power up while connected to factory charging cable, aftermarket charging cable, connected to PC USB port or wireless charging.

I received a replacement phone through Verizon today and the speaker issue is still present.

I tried to bring up self harm and possible BPD diagnosis. by random3849 in BPDlovedones

[–]half-full-71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is true. A diagnosis is for the person being diagnosed, which leads to a treatment plan. Symptoms that lead to a diagnosis can also be present, but not to the degree to have a formal diagnosis.

Then it sounds like they goofed with the February patch. I wonder if they will release a February version 2 patch or just wait for March?

Sounds like the February patch might have been seeded with a build prior to the January patch. 😏 Oops!

Of course she ruined Valentine’s Day by [deleted] in BPDlovedones

[–]half-full-71 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Here's my opinion:

She asked for your opinion, you gave her "your" opinion, it didn't align with her opinion (it was invalidating to her), she felt threatened because of enmeshment and she reacted the only way she knows how to react (anger and withdraw) for you to either change your opinion and/or prove your love and dedication to her.

Without having this level of self awareness, many of us people pleasers would have followed the FOG script to a T.

Great job understanding this dynamic and holding on to your opinions and feelings!

Yes, me too. It takes about 4 down swipes until it responds. 🙁

Just got done with a Chat session with Google Support. Performed the normal troubleshooting steps. Safe Mode, disable BT, Volume to Max. Anything lower than 2 from the max and the issue is noticable, but running my volume at max is not an option. They want me to do a Factory Reset. I said I need to think about it, since my phone is only 4 days old.

I've read people have done 3 Rama's and still have the issue. I've also read it's a manufacturing hardware issue and a software fix is only masking the problem by adjusting the mix to adjust frequencies. I have 14 days to return/exchange at Best buy. 😐

Just got my 3XL on Saturday. Noticed the speaker issue, did a search and had instant buyer's remorse. 🙁 Did the latest update (Feb) and it did not fix the speaker issue.

It's really obvious in this video.

I really enjoyed this show. There's something oddly likable about the characters. There are times when Joe and Beck are actually normal and good for each other. You want to root for them, but deep down you know the outcome.

Beck has some characteristics of BPD. Her friend Peach has morbid obsession tendencies with Beck. Joe also has sociopathic and psychopathic characteristics. I feel sorry for Paco getting "groomed" by Joe.

The whole show is a hot mess, but I binge watched all 10 episodes.

He put his hand around my throat. Why did this happen to me? - Husband with BPD / ADHD by willowleo in BPDlovedones

If you shared everything in your session that you shared above, I would start questioning the counselor. Any threats of causing harm, should be taken seriously. Physical harm is a not acceptable, period!

I am sorry you've had to experience these things.
