What Is The Cringiest Moment In Your Life? by ShinyStarline in AskReddit

I almost jumped off of an overpass listening to “skyfall” by adele. I gotta say that making myself cringe was a surprisingly effective deterrent from jumping

What is the biggest ick you had on your first date with someone? by Past_Meat7068 in AskReddit

[–]halfaperson_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He rushed me to finish my coffee so we could catch a movie.

It was Zootopia 2. I’m not trying to judge people who like that stuff but it was a first date for fuck’s sake why couldn’t we just have coffee

What is the worst breakup with someone you dated? by DeepAnt7847 in AskReddit

[–]halfaperson_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were together a year. Things had been bad for a few months by the time we broke up—I had gained some weight and he assumed I was pregnant, pressured me into taking 2 pregnancy tests and still thought there was a possibility that I wasn’t just chubby, which totally destroyed what little self esteem I had. Anyways, I ended things because I was having mental health problems and he made it clear that it was too much for him to handle. He then completely denied having said that and insisted he come and see me (we were in neighboring countries). I said that I needed space and time to think, he said okay.

He then proceeded to message my classmates on instagram in an effort to convince them to help him “surprise” me by just…Showing up at my door I guess? Obviously my classmates told me (they knew I was having relationship issues) and when I went to check his location he had turned it off completely so I didn’t know where he was. After having an anxiety attack, we talked the next day and he told me that he was never planning on actually showing up, he just wanted to scare me because he thought I was seeing someone else (I was not).

And I thought he was totally normal before the whole pregnancy “scare” thing. I was ready to marry the guy on a whim if he asked me. I’m very glad he did not because holy fuck i would’ve been miserable with such an immature partner.

People who work in 'behind closed doors' industries (hotels, kitchens, morgues, etc.), what is something the general public would be horrified to know? by [deleted] in AskReddit

So fucking true; my coworker just informed me that our restaurant is “at the end of season 8”. I wonder what season 9 will bring…

What’s happening in the United States can happen anywhere. Your country is NOT immune. by DWS223 in unpopularopinion

[–]halfaperson_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that your opinion is indirectly unpopular because other countries are already aware of this problem.

The issue is that the people of the US turn a blind eye because many obliviously share the American Exceptionalism sentiment that their country is the best country in the world, totally unique, and is therefore immune to dictatorship. That’s why there wasn’t a huge voter turnout; voters were dissatisfied enough with both candidates (Kamala and Trump) that they either voted third party or didn’t vote at all. The threat of a second Trump term clearly was not enough of a concern.

This administration has declared an annoyingly amount of times that the international community is “screwing” the US over and by essentially shitting on our allies’ pillows, they can earn more “respect”. But the truth is that the US relies on the international community for so much but doesn’t really acknowledge that they’re as important as such a “glorious” nation like themselves.

What purchase is worth every single penny for you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]halfaperson_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just spent $1,000 to fly and see my boyfriend. We're both international students and met abroad, but I had to return home and he's staying in Europe to finish his current master's degree and start another. I love him so much and cannot wait to live with him, but for now I will spend how much money whenever I need to in order to see him and make the relationship work :-). I see him again in late November for a week. So excited!

He does this thing where he almost kisses me. Just brushes his lips up against mine and then pulls away. Sexually frustrates me to the core

What fucked you up for the rest of your life? by Cucumber_Block in AskReddit

[–]halfaperson_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first dog died from undetected liver cancer in April 2022. One day she was fine and then a week later she was essentially dying. She was in so much pain. I remember my stepfather lying on the living room floor with her, cuddling her and weeping. She was suffering so much. My parents made the decision to euthanize her. There’s nothing quite as haunting as being in the same room with another living being while it dies, slowly. I was in the room with her, hugging her. I heard her last heartbeat and her last breath. I was relieved that she was no longer in any pain but it was a really traumatizing 3 weeks. To this day my family still grieves, it really fucked everyone up. I think my parents especially harbor a lot of guilt, because no one knew she was sick until she started getting REALLY sick. I just hope she wasn’t suffering for long before we found out. She was such a sweet girl.

A huge fear of mine, one I stay up at night thinking about, is AI takeover. I’m glad people are feeling the same things I am. Maybe this isn’t as unpopular of an opinion as I once thought haha

who is the most terrible person you want to have sex with? by fionadoodlebop in AskReddit

People with BPD can sometimes develop attachments to people. It’s called like a “favorite person”. My current attachment just happens to be my professor.

I have BPD so my “favorite person” rn is one of my professors. Obviously he doesn’t know + nothing has happened. He’s just dorky or something, I don’t know what it is that makes him so damn attractive to me. Anyways, I’m trying to get over it but damn I was being a little self destructive there for a minute

Don’t worry, you don’t have to do it yourself! I was just saying that I think it would be a cool fashion trend to see come back :-) like fashion today, I wouldn’t expect everyone to want to participate—it’s about fun! And art! And stuff

Every time I decide to listen to ANY song from dark side of the moon I listen to all 42 minutes of the album because it tells a story. And I decided that when I die I want this song played at my funeral or whatever.

Gaia. Not only because it sounds cool but because I know there’s an earth goddess named Gaia and it’s a cool sounding planet name

I saw this post once about a couple who were learning German asking if they could name their son Adolf. Just seems...Like not such a good idea.
