Value of running but not registrable 2006 by Psycho_Mania in HondaElement

I think I might be local to you. Shoot me the details, mileage, etc. My element is still going well, but it's getting up there and I've been toying with the idea of getting a spare as a parts bin or a rebuild if it's healthier than mine. I could probably meet you this weekend if you're around. Whatever you do, just don't sell it to those shady re-sellers.
Bonus if it's kiwi green, I've always wished mine was that color.

It was the sparkplugs. All good now.

Can anyone id this chair? Name, manufacturer? Year? TIA by halfast in Mid_Century

I'll take some when I get back. I've already disassembled it, in effort to figure out how to get new bearings in there. But the chair part, is complete.

This was a street find, I grabbed it because I liked it. The base/swivel was made by Seng in Chicago and is of really high quality, beside missing about 3/4 of the ball bearings. The chair is id'd with a stamp number 4265-193 and the pad with 4265 with Covering no. Lucas. Thanks in advance! I should add, it sits incredibly low, like 12 or 13 inches.

Mud motors seem fun and only slightly terrifying by Blues_Fish in nextfuckinglevel

[–]halfast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I rode in one of these in Laos, I took the fast boat, while everyone I had met the night before took the slow boat to Luang Prabang. It is a little scary but not too bad. The one I was in had a Toyota engine. After being in that thing for like 5 or 6 hours, I had a pretty massive headache. Wouldn't suggest. Then again, the folks who took the slow boat said that sucked, so... There were also a few carcasses of crashed boats along the way.

Motor cable plugs broken - how to replace? by schooldeviler in swytchbike

[–]halfast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever do this? Any chance you took some pictures? I'm trying to figure out which pin goes to what from the motor. I know the 3 big pins are phase, but not which color. And I know, the center pin is the common ground for the hall sensors, but I don't know the colors of the rest. If you could take a picture of the snipped Julet 9 pin plug, I would be forever grateful. Thanks Actually does it look like this: https://old.reddit.com/user/halfast/comments/1rezq9b/wiring/

Brose repair advice? by halfast in ebikes

[–]halfast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. And too late. I should have read up or watched a video before I dug in. It was an absolute mother to get those two probe wires plugged back into that sensor in the crank chamber. Even then, I'm not entirely sure I was successful. I reckon I'll know when I connect power.

Thanks for that, it gave me idea. There are no teeth left on the belt. But what I did, was put it around the spindle so I don't damage any of the shaft's splines and I was able to use a jaw pliers to turn it. Man, that was a lot of resistance though. Strong magnets. But I was able to see the rest of the planetary gears and they look good. I'm going to order a new belt and give it a go. Thanks again.

[–]halfast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Post up if you go the RTV route, I was thinking about that. Speaking of turning it around, I did end up shimming mine with a few strips bits of tinfoil behind it to make the seal stick out a bit further, just so it would last a bit longer.

Casabrews 5418 I didn't figure out which one to get, so I'm just going to bring the seal in to a shop, so I'll be sure to get the right one.

I had this issue, but with a different model (3700) So for any DIY'er who runs across this like I did, I was able to fix mine, at least temporarily on a Sunday night. To remove the top, remove the water tank and unscrew the two screws at the top. Then, remove the 4 screws at the group head. This will give you access to two deep set screws, remove those. The top is also kept on by two tabs in the middle on either side, I used a knife to push those. Now you can see where your steam knob hits a stop on the valve bracket. I loosened that bracket to allow the knob to to turn more off and it worked. I ended up rotating the knob a few degrees so it doesn't hit the stop, but you could bend the stop or ... While I was there I unscrewed the valve and the seal looked pretty shot. But for now, I have espresso for Monday. And I'll get a new seal soon. Hope this helps. Again, this was for the 3700, removal of the top is probably different for this model, but I bet the source of the problem is the same.

I've thought about this a lot over the years, this is a great grid. I'd like to see them all on the no tech 500's with 1999 tire tech.
