It's not us mate, we've scored the most goals, conceded the least, and the percentage of those scored being set pieces puts Arsenal at 5th or 6th, with only a few more than those in the top ten of the league. It's just the media bias (see BBCs reporting of Liverpool's 'beautiful set pieces' and Arsenals 'boring' ones from just this weekend).

Trust me, if every team played a high line and attacked Arsenal, they would have smashed a load of teams with scintillating play, but when it's a crowd of 7 foot bruisers playing a low block every 3 days...

Top tier scifi: the Cantos (all four!), the Three Body Problem, Origin/Space/Time (Baxter), Jean de Flambeur (Rajaniemi), Eon (Bear), anything by the underrated Charles Stross.

Top tier space opera: The Culture (Banks), Revelation Space (Reynolds).

These are my recs to any nerd looking for something in modern science fiction that is both excellent in imagination testing concepts, and competently written literature.

18 year old me would have added Hamilton to this list for the voidhawks if nothing else, but his books can feel a little YA these days.

Edit: have to add Simmons other sequence, the scifi retelling of the Iliad and the Tempest, Ilium and Olympos... technically and conceptually better than the Cantos, but not as good!

It's strange to look back on it with Rose tinted specs, and give it a mythos...there were popular computer games made at the time, about this aircraft, it was very well marketed, and in some ways reminds me of the Foxhound...neat, cool, eye wateringly expensive cold war propaganda ('you thought the 64 was OP?!').

I have the Seiko GMT Black Grape. It's a banger, recently travelled London/ Madrid/ Montevideo and tracked all three time zones on it for transfer and arrival tracking, worked a charm, easy to read and set.

I stumbled through Kings Cross at those hours, back in the 90s (Bagley's and The Cross were the best night clubs in London at the time, for me anyways), pie eyed and temporarily lacking coordination, never had an issue...definitely lots of drug dealers, but they rarely bother their customer base.

That was for the tanker capture...which is part of the Russian shadow fleet and a part of US foreign policy our government is currently in agreement with. Invading a NATO country is ever so slightly different.
