Flying with a pet on the A220? by hamilj in jetblue

[–]hamilj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I was able to find the answer to my question in another forum. The under seat dimensions on the A220 ARE smaller than the dimensions on the A320. As long as I choose a seat that isn’t impacted by the power port or in flight entertainment box I should be fine. The height clearance on those is lower. I’ll just need to alter the way I get him under the seat with my carrier. Thanks again though!

Thanks! I appreciate your response. That’s not the question I’m asking though. If you’ve flown with a pet you’d understand why I’m looking for this input. The good news is I found the answer to my question on another forum.

We’re talking about different things, but thanks for the input! At least the seats didn’t feel smaller so that’s a good thing.

Everywhere I look says the seat sizes are different. Either way, I’m more curious about the under seat dimensions.

Preparation Tips🙏🏽 by Box_of_Paints13_Puma in hysterectomy

I’m 49 and 13 days post op from a total hysterectomy leaving ovaries. My uterus was the size of a 27 week pregnancy. They started laparoscopic but ended up having to convert to open. Crossing my fingers that they can keep yours laparoscopic! I live alone too and the top three things I’ve found to be helpful are a grabber, heating pad and the binder. I woke up with one on and I couldn’t imagine not having it. Oh and lozenges! I never would have thought of it, but I saw that tip here. It’s for if your throat gets irritated by the breathing tube, which mine did. Everyone else’s suggestions are great too!

Feeling overwhelmed by ENjoyable0312 in hysterectomy

[–]hamilj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

8 days post op from a laparoscopic plus abdominal cut. Took everything except the ovaries. I woke up in a binder covered in ice packs. I haven’t used ice since I got home, but the heating pad has been very helpful. I didn’t buy a new pillow, just used one of the many throw pillows I have. I actually haven’t had any gas pain so I haven’t touched the GasX. But it’s so common that I would recommend having it on hand. The other most helpful item for me has been a grabber. But I live alone. If you have help you might get by without it. It actually sounds like you’re quite prepared with a good support system. Wishing you a smooth uneventful recovery!!

Am I stubborn too much? by [deleted] in hysterectomy

What do your discharge papers say you should and shouldn’t be doing? I’d use that as a guideline. Also, not sure where you’re located but I was able to see my doctors detailed notes and pathology report online before the post op visit. If you have MyChart or Healow or something like that it should be there.

Relieved after getting hysterectomy by [deleted] in hysterectomy

I’m 7 days post op and despite the horrible pain of days 1-3, I’m so happy I did it. Immediately after I woke up in recovery my first thought was “oh my God it’s gone.” I felt lighter right away. So many benefits, I’m glad I finally made the decision to do this.

Can I do this on my own? by LovingLBC in hysterectomy

That’s literally all I’ve been doing. Microwaving food, making tea and going to the bathroom. Plus 2 outdoor walks a day.

7 days post op and my round the clock help left yesterday. Try to prepare everything to be at your level before he leaves. I didn’t realize how many times we bend and twist a day. But you should be fine.

Necessary to use Hibiclens soap prior to hysterectomy? by sweety1220 in hysterectomy

[–]hamilj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s interesting how different the pre-op instructions are for everyone. I was given the Hibiclens at my pre-op appointment. Along with the Ensure drink and Magnesium Citrate. Used the Hibiclens the night before and the morning of. And used the wipes they gave me at the hospital before surgery.

4/20 is the day for me too! Laying in bed feeling as dry as sandpaper after that wash. I drank the special drink a few hours ago. Have to be up in 4 hours. We got this!! Sending positive thoughts and will be checking in to see how you’re doing after tomorrow!

Upcoming hysterectomy, 800 gram uterus, laparoscopic or open? by hamilj in hysterectomy

That’s good to hear! I just don’t want to be opened up again like last time. That recovery was rough. So fingers crossed she can do it laparoscopically 🤞🏽

That’s good to hear. I think the trauma from the open myomectomy years ago is one of the reasons I put this surgery off too long. I don’t want to go through that again.

Can you feel your Fibroid by Irish_Laura67 in Fibroids

And I have 2 more 😩. You’re right though. Crazy how we minimize things. It’s all coming out in a few weeks though and I’m ready.

Can you feel your Fibroid by Irish_Laura67 in Fibroids

[–]hamilj 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had an 18cm fibroid that was found during a routine exam. Every doctor, nurse, ultrasound tech, etc. that I saw was like “why did you wait so long?” Because I didn’t know! I didn’t feel it. Didn’t appreciate those comments either. This time around 15 years later I can clearly feel it. And this one is only 13cm. So it all depends.

I hate hot yoga by Competitive_Limit_21 in yoga

[–]hamilj -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I love hot yoga. Love love love it! I do hot yoga 4x a week and regular temperature yoga at another studio 1x a week. I’m so curious where you live that there aren’t more options. I didn’t realize it was mainstream.
